Hi all ,
Been out today (really misty / wet) and have noticed the arms on my jacket have got more soaked than normal. I have a 2020 GS with a standard screen but do you think the standard GSA screen would be a better option to help stop this?

Low version GS and i am only 5’7” so don't need a taller screen but thought the GSA screen looks a bit wider ?

Any help appreciated- thanks.

Or DIY with bin bags.

I’d love to help but I’m not 5’ 7” nor in fact do I own a WC GS (2020) but a surf about in Google has turned this up:

Which might well be the absolute dog’s nuts.

The GSA (at least my 1200, when I had one) had some winglet things, which were plonked onto the fairing. I have no idea if the same applies to the WC variety of bike, nor indeed what real purpose they served, beyond increasing ‘presence’. Try some, you never know, they might work to cure your wet arms. You can always flog them if they don’t.

You night be reluctant to drill the holes only to then discover the winglets don’t work. Stick them in place with heavy duty Velcro whilst you experiment, would be my suggestion.

I fitted the GSA winglets and a Wunderlich Adventure screen to my 2016 1200GS.

The combo made a massive difference to comfort and run protection in the winter. Pain in the summer though - no air.

They also made no difference to the amount of crap the GS throws up the back of your left leg...

Are you talking about these of winglets ?

These are the only ones i can find that fit the standard GS without drilling.- look ok though.

I’m talking about the winglet things that came as standard, as fitted on the BMW production line by highly trained pixies, on my 1200 GSA.

If you fancy the ones in your link, go for it.

Thanks wapping.
The GS has no fixing holes for the GSA winglets as the tank panels are different. Thats why i chose those.
Thanks for the help

Are you sure that the panels are not just ‘smoothed off’ ie that the mounting holes are there but simply covered over by the ‘skin’ of the panels? If so just remove the panels and (carefully) drill the holes out. There are lots of YouTube videos on how to drill motorcycle panels.

That being said, I have absolutely no reason to doubt you.

I have good bike gear, but have in topcase lightweight 2 size bigger waterproof plastic fisherman coat for when rain is really bad, and yellow colour help also to be seen, gsa screen give no help to me, just take away good wind.

I have the GSA screen on my R1250GS and have also fitted the Wunderlich winglets (mentioned by @Bem) above - the combination of both has definitely reduced the amount of wind and water that comes back at me when riding.

Same here and in summer i use a tiny sport screen for more air.

Those are what I fitted. No drilling required…

Thanks all.
Ok, so i have ordered those winglets for a starter.
I will order the gsa screen once i have tried the winglets.

Thanks for the help- apprecited.

Get the Puig touring screen as it’s a wee bit bigger and wider than the standard GSA screen. That’s what I put on my gsa plus it looks quite Normal.
