Big thank you to the service team at Williams

My bike was in the workshop having a 10,000 mile service and the front tyre changed when the lady on the service desk asked me to come into the workshop. The tyre changing machine had made a slight mark on the wheel rim, while changing the tyre.

This could easily have been covered up and I probably wouldn't have noticed it for some time, but to my astonishment, they've ordered a brand new wheel at no cost to me.

I've always had good service at Williams, and I felt that this needed a mention; this is top notch service - many thanks to Janet and Lee :clap

Thats good hear and thanks for telling us, i am booking my 1200 in for its 12000 service tomorrow at Williams. what did they charge for the tyre, i need a front Tourance
Cheers Nozza

Glad to hear that they're so good.

Just bought a new K1200 GT from em.

No ones ever 10 out of 10

By coincidence I heard that story just the other day when i picked up my GSA which had a bad scuff on the peak. I had cleaned the peak 2 days before and am sure i would have noticed it as its a bad scuff.

I was told they could not have done it and they had marked it down as a scratch when it came in. This entails a small s marked on a plan of the bike, which could have refered to anything but was assured they had not caused the scuff, because a recent customer had just had his wheel replaced due to a scratch caused on tyre fitting. At least this supports that.

I have since checked some pics i took when i bought it, which was only a few weeks ago and the scuff which looks like the front of the bike was pushed against something was'nt there. I can't prove it was done at Williams and they deny doing it, so i'm stuck with it. I will photograph it front and back in future, only takes a few minutes with a digital camera and stops any arguments.

I needed a front Tourance as well but in there own words at there hourly rate you can get a better deal else where, took the bike to SMD in leigh. £80.00 fitted to the bike, a good deal i think.

No complaints from me - I'll be going there for my next set too

My bike was in for a service for me to take it somewhere else to have a tyre fitted even for a £20 saving is hardly worth the effort :nenau

If it needed tyres and wasn't due a service yes i would have probably used an independent tyre fitter like the guy at Wheelock ...

I doubt an independent would offer to replace the wheel if they scratch it :(

Steve Platt would take the time and care in the first place, it wouldn't be scratched ;)

However, Williams have been top notch with me so far too :)

Wheelock

I got 2 new tyres last Friday from Wheelock.
Great guy, good prioces and takes care.
No scratches, all nuts torqued up properly and wheel balanced.

Cost in total for front and back £180, wheels on the bike (not loose).

Thanks mate.
Lets see if your wheel is still in when you get to Latvia Pip.
Lets think - what is Latvian for " of shit where is my front wheel".
