Go smaller and it will sort itself out, I wish people would stop with the barn door and spoiler on a spoiler on a spoiler on a spoiler approach. I fitted a VStream Sports screen to my GSA, and I don't get any buffeting, my lid is in clean air and it's far less tiresome than buffeting.

I'm tosser sized and a shade over 6' tall.

Yes correct and barn door screens grab wind a lot more.

I found fitting screen braces (Cymarc) reduced the buffering on my GSA. They stop the top of the screen fluttering, especially in the disturbed air on motorways.

I had similar problems with my GS and tried removing the screen.

It caused a slight improvement but there was turbulence from the clocks.

I then bought a short screen from Powerbronze and it fixed the problem. I seem to recall taking it off when I sold the bike. I will pop it in the for sale section today if I can find it in the shed.

Thanks for the input all, in some ways the new taller screen has made the problem worse but it's hard to tell. Will give it a go without the screen and see. One thing I did notice this morning is even if I duck right behind the screen it makes no difference. Holding my hand behind the screen doesn't seem to show any bad air, but what I did notice is there is ALOT of wind hitting me from the gap between the mirror and the hand guards like the hand guards are channeling it up and into me. I'll still give no screen a go and see what happens.

Have tried my Arai RX7GP and the buffeting is no different. Also tried the seat on low and high also. Maybe a smaller screen is the way to go. It's not the air hitting me that bothers me, its the rattling and resonance of my helmet side to side.

The only thing you can do is to try the different options, from no screen to big screen and see what suits you best. We are all different sizing, seating positions and we all suit different options...

Take the mirrors off, or fold them in.
Also, take off the handguards and see if that helps. The BMW ones are just for looks anyway.

Shorten your legs and become 5'8 and all will be good .

I'm 5'5 and still get buffetted by the screen fitted.

When i had my hexhead, i have a givi airflow, no buffeting at all, on reflection there may have been the resonance issue, but i think that was more suspension related,

it went away once i softened the suspension

It is bizarre and so individual. I am 5' 5" as well and find the standard GS screen in its lowest position perfect - no noise or buffeting and able to ride visor-up at up to 70mph without problem using either a touring or adventure style helmet.

Strange indeed. I can sit at 100 with my piss pot on and no problems. Must be my height . I ride a few beemers and no issues on those either.

The height might cause some of the turbulence but it’s the void behind the screen, or something else entirely (bodywork, mirrors etc). Reducing the void is much more to do with the gap between the bottom/middle of the screen and the bodywork. If the screws on the screen are long enough, try fitting 15mm+ rubber washers, initially at the bottom to increase the gap and counteract any difference in pressure behind the screen. I found this out by accident - my 850GSA Rallye screen was OK but the MRA Vario screen I replaced it with was touching the winglets in the low position. I fitted 20mm spacers at the bottom - almost all turbulence has gone in the high position, without having to fit a taller screen.

However it’s also true that the best option is either a tiny screen or one that’s over head height as anything in between is likely to generate some turbulence.
