There's loads of these around at the minute, upgrade to IE9 its more secure than previous versions.

To kill the malware use this Norton tool, I've used it several times:

Spotify ( free version ) had a popup add which had the virus encoded. That how she got it!

Less likely, depends on the virus, scan it to make sure. Malwarebytes is a useful addition to an anti-virus package.

I update and run it every day before opening any other webpage, kills everything nasty

I think my grandaughters laptop has a similar virus.

When you try to login in (Vista Home) it immediately logs you out again.

I have booted in safe mode with network activated and can connect to a wirless netowrk but cannot get onto the web as it keeps going to another website and displaying the windows secuity settings bar at the top.

Tried NPE and Hitman but because there is no internet connection they wont work.

Any ideas please?

You will need to boot up in safe mode. I don't run Vista, so not sure, but I think F8 will get you into Safe Mode on Boot Up. There will be a message telling, which function key you need to get Safe Mode.

That should allow you into the system without (hopefully) activating the virus. Then run your antivirus/malware tools.
