Hi All,

Just picked up my new Exclusive TE last Thursday having returned to biking after 4 years away. (it's in the blood ain't it)?

I'm 6'2" and definitely need a bigger/better screen. Any similarly lanky blokes found an optimum solution?

Any recommendations (sensible please - I know what you lot are like)?

Thanks

Al

I'm 6.2
Got a standard rallye TE 1200, I find it spot on at nearly max height.
If I lower to minimum I get a clean blast full in the face.
My seat is set, high at front, low on the rear.
I get no turbulence, even considering putting my peak back on my tour-X 4.
I'm not changing the screen, on my old 1150 I had a vario mra screen. Took it off to sell and fitted standard screen, I loved the standard screen so much more. I feel like I was bolting junk on for the sake of it.

6’2” on a 1250 GSA. Seat on higher setting. Shoei Neotec 2. Had an MRA screen but never that happy. Now have Wunderlich Marathon with Cymarc supports. Big improvement. Very happy with it.

Why do you need a bigger better screen, is it to keep rain off you or the wind, if both, just get a GSA screen second hand, simple replacement, little higher and wider the GS screen, but if you go bigger get brackets.

it's been said on here before but the MRA X Creen is the best mod for the standard screen( or any screen for that matter)no brackets needed for it and you can just take it off when not required
I'm 6ft 2" and it works for me and others

Had the gs, ok´ish, gsa little better but had side wind buffeting where the lateral cutouts are, now have a Vstream and everything is perfect :-)
ps. I´m 1.8m

Thanks for your replies all.

I suppose people's experiences vary because our physiology is different i.e. ratio of body length to height. It seems to be a matter of trial and error what works best but I'm hoping not to make an expensive mistake.

Try your own screen first, cm by cm you might be surprised............

This.

Started with a Powerbronze Flip which was great. Convinced myself that I needed an MRA screen but hated it and I am now on a Givi screen which I have just returned from 1660 mile trip to france and thought it was superb. Keep an eye out in the classifieds on here and try a few different ones. P.S I am 6’3” and have a 2017 Rallye.

Same here.

However, if you're going to a hot country for more than a day or so swap to a standard one as they're very effective at shielding from the wind.

Tried all sorts on my 2018 GSA and eventually found the Puig touring Screen the best and cheapest option at around £80 new.
Fits all 1200 and 1250 GS and GSA versions.

I can concur with what you say its very very effective at keeping the wind off, maybe a little too effective on a hot day but it keeps the rain off to so bonus.:D
