I was wondering whether to post this as a "Show us your windshield" type thread - but realised that certain lively members of this forum might want to show off their nice, stripey beach windbreaks. Just so you know, it's not about windbreaks. It is about windshields for putting round the old stove (at this point in time camping gaz - cos I can't justify the expense on a £60+ stove for occasional use) when camping.

Should I go for a foil type windshield (not convinced) or one with as many sides (ranging from about 5 to 8)? And how important is it to get the little bits that stick into the ground at either end? How easy to clean the ones with the hinges between sections IYKWIM?

Foil type for me, but they are generally for stoves that sit low to the ground such as MSR or Primus omnifuel. They don't look pretty, but they work well and fold up very flat.
