Winglets on a 1150 gsa - where to buy

I modded some of the 1200 ones a couple of weeks ago after reading about it on the advrider forums.

Instant change to buffetting but a lot of mucking about.

I ended up heating them one at a time in the oven to increase the bend then took about 1'' off the back and cut and filed the back so they would slide under the rubber tank / beak spacer. I first attached them with 3m heavy duty velcro and did a test ride. I also had to open up the bit where the accessory socket goes. Very easy to do with a dremmel.

Once happy with position they were drilled and fitted. They work really well.

I'm also using a ztechnic tall screen, without tobinators they would not have fitted.

Just fitted Nippy Normans to my 1150GS. I'm 6'7, bike has Adventure screen and Tobinators. I can find a sweet spot but a but limited. Read good things about the wings so decided to fit them. It didn't take long but I recommend the use of a heat gun, the type used for decorating. Whole job done in under an hour, if you're careful you can even heat them on the bike to adjust or make them even. Haven't been on a ride long enough to comment on their effectiveness.

I put masking tape on the surface to be drilled to mark the holes and kept it there for drilling, the bodywork drills really easily. I used the heatgun to gradually change the shape until they looked about right.

Haven't amanged to get out for a ride yet! Shameful isn't it, hoping that this Friday afternoon will remain only midy wet and not torrential!!

Will post as soon as I know.

I've been out today for a ride over the Pennines, very blustery so a good test. The Winglets do make a difference, its not a miracle cure but definitely better. The buffeting around my head is practically gone and I can vary my position on the bike quite a bit more than before without buffeting discomfort. There is still a really sweet spot but the difference is now that all other positions around that point are almost as good.
The wind now seems to be deflected so that it is pushed on to the forearms and chest, its not uncomfotable and all in all I think its an improvement.
