Doesn't look nice, but works very well. Removes a lot of buffeting, and a lot of rain.

To never have been washed, but have 100.000 km on the odo, Bamsefar looks surprisingly good.

The person is neither Capa della Famiglia nor myself.

Dude,

if your gonna be living in Italy, need to get Dainese ......:blast
As I said: Neither me nor Capa della Famiglia. However, Italians brands might have their advantages, but they also have their disadvantages: The size "Norvegian-born Viking-sized rider" is not on the offering.

QUOTE=Decster;1484130]Winglets look ok. Hardly notice them. anyway a GS for me has more been about function rather than form[/QUOTE] I used 5mm acryl, a heat-gun, and two 5mm bolts (with that plastic thing to make sure they don't fall off). I advice you to try it out.

Anyone teetering on the edge due to buffeting on an 1150 do not despair!

I was almost about to give up this week and started feeling unfaithful as I perused and played with a "magma red" brand new GSA.
But I thought, sod it, I'll try one more thing.

I've tobinated - which has worked OK and now replaced screen for a ztechnic tall screen - which, I don't think made a lot of difference - but with this bad weather, probably an unfair test so I coughed up for a set of wingletts after reading the advrider post.

With a tobinated ztechnic screen I put some heavy clear vinyl on the beak parts and then applied some 3M ninja death touch velcro.

I had to heat the winglets in the oven - did not work great but I had it on max and waited until the winglet drooped. Quickly removed and bent until I got as close as I could to a good fit.

Then came the fun bit... I removed about 1 inch from the back (closest to tank) and cut a groove into the winglet - so it would slide under the rubber 'spacer' between tank and beak. Enlarged the left side for the accessory socket and then atached with the 3M ninja velcro - and for good measure, tied them on too.

Went out for a test ride

:clap:clap:clap

Think by luck I'd got it just right, almost 100% difference hardly any buffeting - got cold legs! I can live with that.

Hasty return and secured with the fixing kit - no nuts so I used ones from a nuts and bolts kit I've got with a washer.

The left side was a pain to secure - due to the accessory socket and right was a doddle.

Bit of a bodge but results were immediate. If your precious about appearance of the bike / resale etc I'd go another way, but if your happy to 'heath robinson' it a bit, this is a mod that actually works like it says on the tin!

Would have been easier to make from scratch with plastic sheet as per piccy above and would fit better and probably look better. I'd over heated the left one slightly and got a little bubbling but, to be honest, I'm not that arsed.

I'm off out for brekkie so I'll take some photos then with results as I've yet to perfect the screen position.

Got clear comms with visor open on a tour x at 70 MPH - my mrs said it didn't sound like I was on the bike! so all in all a successful week for comms and wind protection.

Kit was just over £30 from South London BMW, who were helpful as ever! They probably wouldn't have sold me them if they knew how close I was to trading up!
