Winter Head Overhaul

Well, I'm sufficiently scared to take the heads off and replace the exhaust valves. I'm not sure how many KMs the bike has done as I'm sure it's on the second speedo and this one has 47k on it. Do you need to replace exhaust and inlet or just the exhaust valves? Has anyone tried the "slilent rocker mod kit" sold by Moren Israel with the plastic bushes?

I put the one-piece rocker mounts on mine. There is no noise from the top now at all
I got mine a bit cheaper than Israel's from a guy on the German 2-valve GS site.
You can see them here.

If you're are doing Ex valves, it would be a false economy not to do the In's at the same time... IMPO of course.

Personally I only replace the exhaust valves, never had an inlet fail in 40 years...
Check valve guides, if either worn or marked replace or use the liner method favoured by pastyman..
Some models have 2 angles on the valve seat, I just let city engineering in Exeter do mine @ £20 each
Remember IF the exhaust finned nuts are very tight, split the feckers and buy new @ £9 approx from Sherlocks or motobins. lot cheaper than having head stub repaired...

Must admit, comms don't seem to be his strong point... I kept an eye on that forum for his posts and made a request from that... schnell though
Try responding on that thread in my last post. He usually replies there... German though... they delete English posts, as no doubt German ones would be deleted here

Bustup deffo wants a set so maybe you could handle the uberweisung for both of you.
It all gets messy and expensive transferring dosh from non-Euro zone banks
