Finally starting to put some miles on my 1992 R80GS.Have now had output shaft seal changed, carbs rebuilt-cleaned-new cables, everything except main frame powder-coated,bike painted in pearl white, wheels rebuilt by Doug(devon),new shock, seat, screen, stainless fastners...the list goes on.

Am too scared to add up what is has cost so far and there is still other things i want to do yet lol but have created something i like.

Hopefully there are some pics below.

Forgot to mention that have put Rob Farmers barrels on,stainless push-rods,heads bead blasted, rocker covers powder-coated,new rings and new exhaust valves...(ended up using the BMW ones Rob lol).

That looks great and all the better for having your own touches on it  Those wheels look a treat.

Scarey how quickly you get through the cash though isn't it?

Have definately chucked a few quid at it Rob.

Looking forward to adding the pannier racks and panniers to the bike on friday.Unwrapped them last friday and the powder coating was rubbish so took them back.

That looks really good mate, just my personal opinion but think a tiny bit of blue on the main fairing will finish it off nicely. Not sure whether a thin stripe or how but just seems very white in contrast with the rest of the bike. Just my opinion it looks great the way it is already :thumb2

I've just been peering at the screen trying to make out the detail. You've done a hell of a lot more to that than is obvious at first. There's a lot of attention to detail been put that makes a big difference. You must be really chuffed with it.

Yeeeeeah...turn your petrol taps off ( probably the only things that still work on Proffs G/S ) :D

That looks very nice indeed...first time I've seen carb tops ( powder ) coated like this. I agree with Rob ( hate doing that :D )...those wheels look superb:thumb2 Even s/s engine mounts ready to assist more powder coating over next winter:)

Top stuff and always great to see another GS back to its former glory :bounce1

Really great job there, Love it. I would have to agree though that a bit of detail on the side fairing and possibly the side panel would make it look a little nless blank.
Cant believe Proff pointing out the taps and failing to mention that it bis a paralever:D

Tastefully done :thumb2 Especially like the black carb tops, wheels and engine covers.. Nice bit of atd.

Shame about the para bit though :rob :D

Bloody Hell Alex

The last time I saw this bike it was red and a little bit run down, having not long come back from it's previous owners trip to China.

I'm impressed, never thought you'd go this far. Looks fantastic :bow Is the Transalp up for sale now? Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. :thumb2

Val.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

Blacked out engine was done by myself with average results and something to be improved upon next winter but looks cool if you dont look to closely.

Really happy with the wheels..powder coated rims look great against the stainless spokes.

I agree about the comments regarding fairing and side-panels.Have blue GS stickers for the side panels and thinking maybe having the original decals done on the fairing only in blue.

Going to just concentrate on riding the bike this summer then start playing around with it next winter.

I agree Rob, gravel needs brushing back, under the fence needs trimming and that path needs a good power hose........standards eh?

At least he painted the fence before taking the photographs. There is hope.
