Winter projects

This winter, i'll mostly be riding it :D

Bugger, just realised this isn't the 1200 section :blast

Currently looking , I thought i had a High Mile PD , but that seems
somewhat unlikely , the chap is not answering his phone.
To boot , i was looking at a T3 ,then the Guy is asked £2500 for a rolling chassis !
can you believe it !..

So , I would love to , but , i cant get the right machine at the right money,YET..

I'm looking right now, don't mind what it is, but i'd like it to be a keeper, fancy an 1930/40's ish brit single or a 1957 anything (same age as me so i can grow old with it)
P11 or TT Bonny (i know!) Pre-unit thunderbird etc etc

Bought a Honda cb 1000 to have a go with, but to be fair there's not a lot wrong with it,
So think I will sell it.

Any one ??

It is spring here, 26C , flat calm and not a cloud in the sky, and prime riding time for the next couple of months.
Then it will be summer, when it is to hot to do anything, so not a lot unenforced work planned.

I have a G/S final drive waiting on a bearing, shims and seals - but no rush , the one on the bike has been loose and wobbling for almost 100,000 km and doesnt seem to be getting any worse.

And a couple of gear boxes to to assemble into one. I decided not to use the shell from the original G/S box as the bearings had not only been turning on the shafts but in the box too - but a cheap kick start box/ shell has been hard to find.
But again no rush, the $200- non kick start Ebay box fitted 50,000 km back is doing fine.

But I am tempting providence -------.

I've got a heavily modified engine (moorespeed goodies) that's looking for a chassis. I've also got enough parts to put a nice twin shock chassis together. The original plan was to put a cafe racer together but that's been done to death and to be honest most of them look shite so I keep chopping and changing ideas on what I'm going to do. I fancied a well done rt with the quick engine but I think an rt would be a waste of the engine.

I still need to finish my basic clone - fit the st tank and have it all professionally painted.

Can't decide if my 100pd should have a full rebuild or stay as it is for another year.

My 100/7 has over 200k on it and could do with a refresh

Still need to sell the Harley

I've also got a house to finish, a business to run and try and fit a life in the there somewhere.

If I had your skills I,d blend the mooresppeed engine, re-enforced chassis with a load of high end suspension, brakes and wheels turning it into a light, fast b road bike...:D

Build a special frame around the Moorespeed lump, like those trick gantry style frames that ducati sometimes use, a proper stripped down back street hack with quality suspension! Do it all in straight tubes, jobs a good un:thumb

I'm still looking at turning Jaffa into a proper cafe racer. Parts are coming together and with a clever bit of engineering and one of my paint jobs it should look nice. Still tempted to do the full 60s Gulf racing colour scheme:aidan might even keep the cast rims but still fancy doing it with spoked:rolleyes:

What a difference a day makes !..

I have had the feelers out this past while ..

Today , I collected My 1992 BMW K1 , Maybe a touch rougher than i
anticipated . But still nice .
Even with my cursory viewings , i can see lots of half done jobs..
Today , I also got a 1976 Moto Guzzi T3 rolling Chassis .
I am told it needs Wiring . Everything else is sorted .

As has been pointed out,i know the price of everything , and the Value of Nowt .

Which airhead project?

Hi
I'm looking but wearing a blindfold, I haven't got a clue about most things and airheads are top of the list.
Anyone help? I'm fancying a R65, motocross / high handlebars, any classic jap tank, cast wheels - the ones with lots of spokes, a Blitz style cool runner (https://www.facebook.com/Blitz.Motorcycles). I'm not looking for idea's plenty of that around, I'm after a good starting point suggestions? light weightishness being the main criteria as I can't handle a fight getting a bike off the side stand, plenty of spares / options being second.
Or are all R's a valid starting point.
regards
Andy

Nice one Phil,

I've only seen a late blue K1 as a Tourer with the panniers fitted. Never as a standard K1. Your going to be spending time with your osteopath riding a K1 on the Donegal roads :D
