Winter Wild Camping Night Out?

I went up to check out the campsite today after all this rain and it's not good news. The place is a swamp and there is more rain forecast for the next couple of days- although Saturday looks like it will be dry...

So unless you want to camp in a mud bath I'm calling it off.

So let's hope for good weather on the 12th December.

Why not try Comrie Croft near Crieff? You can camp in the woods there and have open fires - best of both worlds :)

Never heard of it and besides, Comrie is too far to go on my adventure bike:eek

:comfort

edit - just had a wee look at their web site- looks good. "However no noise will be tolerated after 11pm"

Would have loved to come along but was a bit late myself in replying and understand wild camping wouldn't be much fun with dozens of bikes and tents, as it would defeat the purpose :)

Maybe there could be a winter camping night next time at a campsite? There is one in the Borders near Ettrick by a river which is open all year....

Just seen the 11 p.m. rule on yer Comrie Croft. I take it you were joking?

Comrie is good, I forgot about that 11pm rule though.

If you want to be a bit more hardcore, camp on the Applecross peninsula at this time of year before the road gets snowed in!

What's their position on fire extinguishers? Can you discharge them, either before or after 11pm? :nenau

(You'd think they'd mention that :augie)

Al :D

Will keep that in mind for the bike group camping trips of which there will be quite a few next year hopefully :) I'm sure we had a trip planned there before but torrential rain meant be had to head elsewhere....

Looking forward to a spot of Jan wild camping....
