Ordered a tin of Winterwax today as featured in this weeks MCN. £6.99 plus £2.00pp. Anyone tried it and any suggestions (keep it clean) where to spray it! I know it needs to go on the bike but where exactly does the winter salt attack the GS?

Tel number should you want some Winterwax is 01256 704909

Hi Ian,

I bought some from a local bike shop in Barnsley after ringing the makers ........ who were very helpful by the way.

I've since used it as per their advice and not sprayed it on the engine or exhaust, wheels only ....... they looked a nice golden colour when I did 'em but the muck has since stuck and they don't look so good now !!!
But I'm prepared to put up with that for the winter.

Obviously if you spray on the engine or anything hot it will bake it on.:beerjug:

Hi Ian
I use WD40 on the engine and inaccesible bits. It helps when you wash but needs reapplying frequently. I use turtle wax wash - about 4 times more than recommended as I think it helps preserve the polish better.

Always wipe the brake discs after using WD unless you want to experience what it was like to ride a CB750K1 in the wet!!

Thanks for the advice - I sprayed the wax into the lid and used a small paint brush to apply it to all the areas that I think will degrade - I looked at a couple of older bikes at SPC and talked to a mechanic.

He also suggested using copper slip on afew bolts that cause problems when removed.
