Hi

I want to replace the electrical power wires on some of the mods that i have, ie pmr radio, intaride, bullet cam etc.

What size wire do i need to get.

I want to cut of the old wire and re run the accessories using new wire as I'm re positioning some of them and the wire is too short.

What size wire do i need for general 12v power. and where is the best place to get it from?

I'm guessing 2 core flat but not sure what amps etc.

Looked at THIS but not sure if it is too heavy or light.

Thanks in advance for your help

Get hold of an old Washing machine. They are full of good quality, vehicle spec, wires of all grades and colours and with crimped connectors already on :thumb2

www,vehicleproducts.co.uk in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Call them on 0115 930 5454 for a free catalogue. They sell high quality standard and thinwall cable for various amperage use by the metre all; plus other connections.

I am using their stuff to rewire my airhead.

You need to check on the components that you are powering to see what their max current draw is. If you power more than one item from the same wire then you need to add up the separate currents (Amps). A good indicator of the wire size will be what amps is the exisisting fuse rating. The wire could should be a little over the size of the fuse. I guess 10amp will do most jobs, but smaller (thinner) wire might be more appropriate if the current draw is a lot less.
