hi

i live in las vegas (bizarre but true) and the drivers here are just
not used to bikes AT ALL. so i want to try and fix some extra LED
rear/brake lights to my bike.

nippynorman does some flexible strips. i am thinking of putting them on the
top box (stays on most of the time) - anybody doen anything similar?
where's it best to connext to the wiring? which wires are which? does
it mess any of CANBUS (??) nonsense up at all??

i did a search and couldn't really make much progress.

many thanks

No worries

I had no problem wiring the Nippy Norman brake and indicator led lights and also a Givi Maxia topbox into my 1200GS wiring.

Dead easy, just get on ebay and buy some flexible strips of red leds. They come in various lengths all sealed and pre wired. I have 3 lots on the back of my bike. One strip just underneath the number plate comes on as normal light and really stands out. I have two lots together in a piece of channeling you use to run cables down the wall of a house. Paint it black, glue the strips in and wire straight to the original wiring. Tie wrap to the back rack and hey presto a high level brake light. No problems to the can bus and my mate says that the bike really stands out from behind. I also have a fog light on the crud catcher for when it gets foggy.
The strips are so easy to use and the longer ones can be bent into a circle if required. Very versatile to use and only limited by your imagination. Just make sure that they state waterproof.
Just like this Item number: 150099589619 off ebay
