what way have most people wired in the 590, is it better to hard wire it to the battery and leave all the connections under the seat or use the canbus connector behind the oil cooler and bring leads up to dash

all opinions and some pics would be most helpfull

ps which works best

Wired mine to the battery Frank because I prefer it live the whole time.
Also you can charge your mobile with the USB socket provided on the wiring loom (GPS has to be in the holder and live to charge)
So its convenient to be able to charge with bike switched off.
Anyway just my preference ....everyone has their own ideas as to what's convenient ;)

I've wired mine into the BMW Accessory socket, but I wish I had gone direct to the battery. Pain when it keeps turning itself off when fuelling up. Would also be handy to charge things under the seat when I'm off the bike. But that goes off too....................

I wired mine up to the canbus GPS socket under tHe oil cooler. I had no need for all the cables so I bundled them up with cable tIes and they fit nicely in the empty bracket which I believe is for a charcoal filter on US models. Mine does not turn off straight away when I turn off the key. It remains powered for about 10 mins after so no issues when fueling etc.

Truthfully doesn't matter when fuelling it turns itself back on and continues with route what's so difficult about that :nenau

Plus heard too many woes about flat batteries :rob
