OK..hard one this. I live on the Wirral, Merseyside. If I needed a BMW dealer which one would I go to ( within reason)?
Has anybody any views on Colwyn Bay motorcycles, they do look a very professional set-up.
100% not interested in Southport Superbikes.
Do they have a store detective ?

Kenny.

I only buy my motor insurance from Colwyn Bay Motorcycles but they've always struck me as OK.

Why the downer on Southport Superbikes? Can't say I'm a big fan either.

Russ.

Kenny, I also live on the Wirral. About 5 years ago I bought a BM from Southport Superbikes and in my view they are completely useless, very unhelpful and expensive, as soon as you have bought the bike they are not interested.
About 2 years ago I bought a VFR800 from Colwyn Bay, seemed like good guys and servicing etc was OK. I would go back to them.
I bought a GS in November from Blue Bell Crewe, so far seem very efficient, have sorted out a few small problems and done the first service.

I think B-H-T wasn't over-impressed with Blue Bell in Crewe.

I have heard good things about Colwyn Bay as well, though their second-hand stuff can be a pit pricey. Still, I'm sure there's always room for negotiation Kenny, especially if it's that, or the place gets torched. :)

Kenny,
I know the owner and a few of the staff at Colwyn Bay Motorcycles, all great guys running an interesting business by stocking all sorts of bikes. They are not however an official BMW dealer these days, and prices are er let's say 'recommended retail price'. Not so sure of their aftermarket enthusiasm once you have bought the bike either.

My only experience of Blue Bell in Crewe was for a first service on my 1150 nearly 3 yrs ago, this was first class even though the bike was imported by myself. Gave me a new loan bike for the day. I understand the mechanics there know their stuff.
The downside in my opinion, is that Blue bell is also a BMW car dealer so it's fancy showrooms and no biker atmosphere around the place at all.

Tim
