With regards to first service and timing, whats best?

To delay 1st service indefinitely until you have 500-600miles on the clock or do the first service regardless of miles.

I have a Sep 16, GSA TB 17 model with 220miles on the clock and 3 outings so far. Bike is now 6 months old, the way my workload is, it will be over a year old for me to do 600miles. So shall I do a first service or not? I think book says every year latest but not sure it is applicable to first service. Little voices in my head say I should service sooner rather thanlater regardless of run in mileage...
 
Doesn't have to be 600. Can be done from 300 or 350 as a minimum
 
Mine had done 660 miles 3 days after collection (a week ago tomorrow). It's going to be nearer 1000 miles before the 1st service, booked for next Monday. They couldn't do it any earlier!
 
I'd leave it until it's a year old. It's not as if the oil in the engine is going to 'go off' within a year. I bought my XR when it was nine months old and it had only covered five miles.
 
I always book the first service when i order and for 4 days after I collect the bike

Oil deteriorates from first use no matter how light, stick with max 1 year from registration itwill be fine,
 
Between 350 and 750 mls
that was from a BMW dealer today as mine is booked in for Friday

I will of done about 600 by the time Friday morning comes

My dealer told me than you can only exceed mileage by 10% otherwise breaks warranty terms

I've decided to err on the side of caution (in case I've been told a porkie) so have pulled a SORN'd bike out of the garage for the week-end. I might even tax it.
 
I was 980 miles at my first service and was asked not to do more as it "might" cause issues if there was an engine warranty claim later on. I am led to believe that they use "running in oil" hence the not over revving, rev limit, keeping loading varied, revs up and down etc but this might be complete bollocks but I recall my dads car competition engines used to run in on different oils to the actual race oils. Any way mines done now so "I'm alright Jack." Lol. Just the corroded fittings and seized rear brake pads pin etc to deal with..
