With regards to first service and timing, whats best?

I was 980 miles at my first service and was asked not to do more as it "might" cause issues if there was an engine warranty claim later on. I am led to believe that they use "running in oil" hence the not over revving, rev limit, keeping loading varied, revs up and down etc but this might be complete bollocks but I recall my dads car competition engines used to run in on different oils to the actual race oils. Any way mines done now so "I'm alright Jack." Lol. Just the corroded fittings and seized rear brake pads pin etc to deal with..
Interesting you mention corroded fittings. I've noticed the alloy bolts on the rear of the drive shaft and around calliper have gone dull and speckled, the bike is garaged and has not been out in the wet or damp, picked up end of December.
It seems it's only these bolts at the moment. I'll mention when it goes in for service.

I was actually quite surprised how corroded or at least marked all these bolts and fittings were. It has been out in the wet and muck of winter but has only done 1300 miles since Dec, every one on the bike I think has some dulling or marking on it. Inside the rear hub is quite dull and marked. that brake pad pin took quite a tap to get out! It's now refitted with Coppaslip and I have sprayed ACF 50 on the fittings...too late I expect but lesson learnt. Be interested to hear what your dealer comments are.
