Wobbly bars niggle on new GSA

Anyone else had the wobble bars experience?
New bike , dealer keeps talking about tyres , they are Conti Attacks
Dealer has changed front wheel but then admitted this did not fix it, Rode an identical GSA (with Metzlers) which does not move at all at the front end.
Worst a 30-40MPH but does it at all speeds just less noticeable at 70-80.
If I simply loosen my hands on the bars (not actually letting go and waving them around) the bars shake like a belly dancer's bum.
Any one else had this ?? was there a fix?

It'll be the tyres. There have been quite a few threads on this topic all with Conti attacks.

Have a play with the search engine and try different key words; 'Conti' 'wobble' etc etc and you'l read all about it ......

Yep- the tyres. There are some dodgy front Contis around.

Had this very same problem with Dunlop TR91's, mate has had same with Metzelers, Me thinks tyre internals are getting damaged/over stretched or somthing during fitting, just my thoughts, 2nd TR91 fitted to mine cured problem wtf..................

A friend had a similar experience, turns out there was a problem with his upper fork cross brace bearing...

Had exact same problem.

30 - 40 mph it was deadly, worse decellerating and with a full load of fuel.

Purchased 3 tyres, two were bad one OK. Strange!

I contacted Conti UK, they're based in Aberystwyth and they have an online contact form. I had contact back within a couple of days saying return the tyres for exchange as there is a known problem.

Two brand new tyres delivered quickly and no deduction for wear.

I'd call it a result and Conti' to give them their due, didn't moan one bit.

Same for me- Dealer offered to change over the tyres but I like the Contis so just got the front changed - perfect now.

Thanks for the input guys
after looking around on the forums (only registered last night) have decided to get a set of metzler tourance tyres fitted. I might have a thing about metzlers, I have a old Z1300 and the only way it will ride straight is with Metzlers fitted

I have discovered that "tyres are not covered by the Warranty sir!"

Actually, riding along with visions of a belly dancers bum was not all bad, but new metzlers it is then.

Dont let the dealer get away with it. Tyres ARE covered by warranty if they are defective and BMW know there's a problem with some of the trail attacks. Tell them to contact conti' UK. Conti will, I'm quite sure, swap the tyres free of charge. They accept there's a known quality issue.

If the dealer blanks you, call BMW UK and keep pushing, why throw away new tyres?

Got two metzlers fitted, problem solved
Still hassling with dealer over who pays for tyres
no joy from Dealer its now got as far as correspondence with BMW UK

I cant see how BMW can argue that :

if they supply a new bike with tyres that are defective , and the dealer agrees they are, it is down to the purchaser to replace them.

so, I dont think this is on and I don't feel like giving up the cost of two metzlers

Cambrian Tyres are the importers and deal with all Conti bike tyre issues

When I was in Garmisch in July I spoke with a techincal guy from Conti who was well aware of the wobbling issue caused by Trail Attacks and admitted that in Germany they now fit 'W' rated tyres to the GS & GSA which (according to Cambrian) are not available in the UK

If the problem has been there from new then the dealer and BMW need to sort it out
