Wonder Wheels Splashes On Plastic!

Cleaning my exhausts with Wonder Wheels and Hein Gericks equivalent has damaged some of my plastics on 2 of my bikes. Is it possible to clean up black plastics and remove the white splash marks at all? I've tried and reduced the white spots abit but not totally. Here's the engine cover of my GSA where I have yet to try and remove them?

Id be more worried about your crash bars rubbing through your exhaust header than a bit of white marking!!!!

If you are thinking the crash bar is touching the exhaust, well it isn't, must be the angle of the photo. Look at the reflection in the L/H header.

I did take care, used a small brush and was careful. I didn't just slap it on! Solvo takes foreveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer. I do use a polishing wheel which was used on the header in the photo. Front mudguard is showing powdered dust from brillow pad. Here's a photo taken tonight in the garage...

Did the same! not as much mind you! only way out is to take cover off and spray with heat resistent satinblack paint,just make sure you clean it well with pre-paint wipe first to make sure there is no tar-spots.

Top tip: Next time mask off the areas you don't want to get marked.

Acid won't eat plastic. The white spots are just where the salts have been deposited after the water has evaporated, or more likely where the polish has been splattered after you polished the headers I'd suggest they ought to scrub off with a brush and maybe some soapy water.

Wonder wheels is brilliant for bringing stainless exhausts back from a brown/grey colour but will take the plating off fasteners and such-like in seconds

Autoglym Bumper Care, it works wonders on black plastic. Available from Halfords etc.

Wonder wheels does not attack plastic. It's supplied in plastic bottles with a plastic handled brush.

Considering I only ride for pleasure, mostly in the dry, after work only, daylight hours, and that I also have a young family which limit my time riding. In the last 12 months I have clocked up 14000 miles between my 4 motorbikes. You can hardly suggest that I'm an armchair motorcyclist! That said, I do like riding around on nice looking clean bikes!
