So my neglected 03 1150 wont start. Hall sensors, check. Both measure ok, both produce pulses with motor spinning. Injectors, check. Both are receiving go signals, pulses, from ecu. Big fat sparks on both plugs. Injector out, no fuel spray so its a fueling thing. Tank off, power up pump on battery, open both quick release valves so expect suck on one and fuel spurting from other. No spurt but some suck. Gravity lets fuel out from both pipes when i open the quick release valves. Fuel is new today and battery is brand new. Why aint no fuel coming out?:nenau

Fuel filter changed 500 miles ago so was working fine. Both breather hoses clear. Fuel level sender working ok so works seem to be ok. Guess i'm going to have to get that plate off again and check it all out on the bench. At least i wont have the same TB feeling taking it off this time thanks to liberal application off copper grease on the studs. Keep the ideas coming chaps and thanks.

I've had a pipe blow of the filter not
Ong after I changed it:blast

OK so when you power the fuel pump directly via 12v source the pump runs.

With the lower/ forward QRC disconnected. When you operate the check valve from the tank side of the pipe you get no fuel.

Because you should at that point get fuel under pump pressure. If your not getting fuel under pressure, it would point to either a blockage or restriction.

However, you state that you get fuel under gravity from that pipe when the pump is not running.

Does the pump change tone at all when it runs initially, like it's going from no pressure to pressurising the fuel line.

I'm wondering if your pump isn't knackered. Sure the motor side of it is running, but you might have a disconnect between the electric motor and mechanical part of the pump.

Thanks for replies. I'll get the fecker out tomorrow and check all the hoses and clips and that the pump actually pumps. It does change tone dependent on where the fuel is. I tipped the tank up to purposely get the pickup out of the water so to speak just to check that. I guess somethings blocked or the pump output pipe has fallen off and is just hanging in the fuel. That would explain why fuel flows out under gravity since surely it shouldn't if it was connected to the pump? Anyway simple enough job so just do it. Thanks again.

Disconnecting the fuel Q/D's cuts off the fuel supply.

Sounds like one of the QD connectors might not be opening the valve when connected. Have you disconnected the lines where they join the hard tubes to the fuel pressure reg and see if fuel pumps out with the QDs connected?

"Tank off, power up pump on battery, open both quick release valves so expect suck on one and fuel spurting from other. " Ahem :augie
Fuel line came off the pipe Arse! Is now running smooth ;-)
