Leaving Worcester to meet up with my riding buddy in Munster, then Muncich. Austria, Slovenia, , Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania Macedonia Greece, Istanbul. back is Bulgaria Serbia Hungary Czech Rep, Germany home.

Wild camping if wet , if not B&B , hotels any tips and ideas, my mate wants mad things like river rafting , bunny jumps, if the trip isn't daunting enough. Ideas on kit and interesting places would be welcome

Really excited. I also want to do a week somewhere as a warm up any ideas ? Spain is my first thoughts or Ireland . Istanbul trip leaving in end of May

Welcome to the forum. You might give us a bit more of clue. When are you going? How long have yo got? It might make a difference to advice given.

Sounds like a great trip though and "bunny jumping" had me thinking of interesting things to do with young ladies who wear stockings and rabbit tails!

We are leaving end of May and we think it will take 4 weeks, not a race to Istanbul its the journey, doing a memorial trip for my late wife and Cancer Research , thanks so far lads.

Mikey if you need help or a bed in Bulgaria given me a shout or a nice cold pint at our pub Murphys in Sofia

Hi, here's my trip down to Turkey a few years ago. http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=338684

You'll also find my trip to Iran, via Turkey, in 2016 on here.

Things to see on route:-

Dachau in Munich - Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia - Sarajevo and Mostar in Bosnia(maybe Srebrenica to continue the Dachau theme) - the Meteora monasteries in Greece - Gallipoli battle site, Ephesus(remains of Roman city) and Cappadocia in Turkey. In Romania the Transylvania area, including 2 great roads, the Transalpina and the famous Transfagarasan. On the way back the Nuremberg Rally(WW2) site is worth a look.

That will do for starters...

Here is a link to our ride through Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia and Armenia back in 2014. You will have a great time. :thumb2

Thanks Micky we don't have much time in Turkey but want to ride to my place in The TRNC planned to retire there with my wife and drive the car , so looks like I will have to do all of Turkey and Cyprus on the list

I would have thought that time of year it would be cooking , I hope we get great weather as we are wild camping where we can

Take care wild camping in Turkey, the police don't take too kindly on those that do....particularly foreigners. Bear in mind that things are a wee bit sensitive here right now, and the state of emergency is likely to be extended beyond May giving the police powers to deport on a whim. People are suspicious at the moment, and although you're likely to get a great welcome from almost everyone it's better to be safe than sorry.

I didn't do all those awful places in one tour but including one is managing. Srebrenica and Dachau in the same trip would be a bit much. Do visit Bosnia though, friendly people and great riding roads.
