I recently noticed a BMW workshop DVD on E bay for £8.50 Seems a fair price to me, I know its a knock off product but I see it as compensation for the cheap chain and poor seat.
Get in quick before BMWs lawyers close them down.
PS I have not got mine yet, I may have been conned. I'll let you know if it arrives.

Yes I have seen the post "I think Greggers will be able to sort you out if you make a charitable donation to the air ambulance. I now have my copy ...allegedly" but having done that task for the Versys riders in the past I know what a real pain it is, so I thought I would leave him in peace for a while. Ill still donate to the Air ambulance though, its one of the best good causes I know.

Its arrived (2 days from order) and works OK. Like all new BMW products though it is very complicated to use. The one thing I was hoping to see was a full service interval chart with a tick box and work description.
There is a short section on servicing and from what I can see the following is the only work carried out.

10,000k (6000m) Change oil and filter.
Plug in diagnostic computer.
Visually check over the bike (Im sure they do, arn't you)
Reset service warning sign in trip computer
Stamp book.
Say thanks for your £125.00

20,000 (12000m) Change oil and filter.
Check valves.
Change air filter.
Plug in diagnostic computer.
Visually check over the bike
Also after 1 year change all brake fluids. Then every 2 years.

30,000 (18000m) Change oil and filter.
Change fork oil.
Plug in diagnostic computer.
Visually check over the bike

40,000 (12000m) Change oil and filter.
Check valves.
Change air filter.
Change spark plugs.
Plug in diagnostic computer.
Visually check over the bike.

There is no mention of balancing throttle bodies etc or changing a fuel filter?
I was suprised to see the valves checked at 12000m, especially as the launch notes mentioned a new valve actuation designed to reduce wear and maintenance. Kawasaki and Yamaha twins with their older design are not checked until 24000m.
I was also suprised to see BMW recomend charging the customer extra each service for fitting a temp stand if no centre stand is fitted, and for re setting the service count down indicator in the computer.

That list is short because all the real work is done a lot earlier..

New ring antenna - 3000 miles,
New wheel bearings, 5000 miles
New chain - 7000 miles
Modify sidestand - 4000 miles

etc.

Yeah this BMW Motorrad Repair Manuals F Nodel K7x disc isn't that clearly designed. I'm a simple man that need's simple pictures or overview picture to follow from.

Live & learn

Really hope Haynes produces a F800GS manual in 2010.

I bought an 'Air Ambulance' one which works a LOT better than my Fiat Ducato disc, however the disc sold on ebay for 650/800 twins was for 650 SINGLES!!! Hence it's now for sale in the 650 singles section so beware!!

Me too, just put a payment in to the Air Ambulance rep, he's gonna send me a back up copy to keep safe in case his gets lost! :augie

I just had a look at the one on Ebay and he seems to have sold 10 copies in the past 10 days. Would be worth putting a link on this page as to how to get the Air Ambulance copies.

This chap should be able to assist, just dont be tight with the donation, Air Amulance is a good cause that anyone could need at some time :thumb
