Hi Vern, can you add me to your order list please. Your panniers look the nuts and I would like a set from ya. I have an Adventurer so if you need any further measurements, let me know and I'll pop up to see you.

A couple of question;

Is it possible to carry pillions with your panniers?

I don't own any panniers -do I need mounting brackets, or do you sort that out?

Can you PM me to sort out payment and final details.

Cheers, Geoff

Last chance for a bargin

I still need three people to place an order at £450,I can only do this price untill the end of the month, because people will get fed up with waiting. If you're still waiting to see them in the flesh before you place an order, give me a ring,01905 612705,and we'll sort a meet out. At the end of this weekend, the price goes up by £150,so you really will be missing out on a bargin.Cheers all.

Bill'I presume you mean the plastic rails that the standard B*w panniers mount on.You don't need anything. For your £450,you get the lot, mountings, rear diag',two boxes(anodised to your choice of colour) and all stainless nuts, bolts and washers.I'm even going to bolt them on for you.Bargin,or what.Oh,you have to buy your own padlocks, but I'm looking into that at the moment.

Ok, where are you?

What's the deal? When do you want the money and do you want cash/credit card or cheque?:D

These are going to work out GREAT. Today we've done a trial-fit to my bike. We've double checked the dimensions of the brackets and the exhaust cut-out so they will fit any 1100GS/1150GS/Adventure.
The height of the lids will be custom-built to my preference, a bit lower than the first prototypes. And the panniers can be hard anodised whatever colour I like. Mounting on the pillion footpeg alloy bracket or a dedicated steel bracket. With or without tie-down lugs. Decisions, decisions ...
Vern, I salute you - a true craftsman. Anyone undecided about whether to get these, go for it. Once you see the build quality, the strength, the attention to detail, you'll see what a bargain this is.

How about some images of your GS without your panniers attached so we can see how your mount system is designed?

Do you need tools to attach and remove your cases?

Do the mounts stick out and become crash points?

What material are the mounts made from? mild steel, aluminum, stainless, ...

How are the mounts finished? anodize, powder coating, time-saved grain finish, etc.

Do you need to relocate the rear turn signals?

What is the price of the cases with anodizing?

What is the price of the cases with powder coating?

Will the front edges contact the payment on my favorite twisty route with the cases filled and my wife riding pillion with me?

Good work Vern, I hope Al Jesse doesn't see your design and fabrication. :o

Hmmm. Please explain "u r A TOSSER".

I'm interested in Vern's creative solution to problems that Vern and others have expressed about luggage systems presently available.

I hope this forum is open enough to have someone make an enquiry regarding a product or innovation that someone is developing.

My hats off to Vern for being willing to invest his energy, time and skill to building a new pannier solution.

I think

That yes this forum is open to any Genuine enquireys. Not ones that are cloaked in threats.I personally dont think u r interested in any ones creativity ur sole interest is this niche market for ur pannier systems. The term tosser is a derogetory one work it out.

URS CIVILITY HIMSELF sometimes

P.S.

I take my hat off to vern also for investing his time, effort &money for us all here @the club. And i will say it again ..For what he has done he has not had half enough recognition from the member,s of this club.Idont mean recognition in a: THANK,s: sorta way i mean in real terms SALES

U KNOW WHO

I guess you (and possibly others) may have concluded that my reference to the similarity in case design to Jesse luggage is something other then what I had intended.

No doubt Vern knows that this reference will be made. I'm not certain if Al's luggage design is covered by international copyright and that is something for both to consider. And, it may not even be a concern for Al or potential customers for Vern.

Yes, I recognized your "tosser" reference as an euphemism. It's surprising to read the posturing in your recent posts, particularly from someone who calls himself the "civil one". You may want to enquire as to my justification for my questions instead of drawing foregone conclusions.

I realize that Vern has a "special place" here on this forum and I mean no disrespect to him, his design or his friends on this list.

Most designers and builders are happy to respond to questions about product design and materials - I'm sure Vern is also.

Again, I wish him the best of luck with his products.

Ok,I'll clear this up once and for all.Here goes;
The first set of panniers I made in this shape, were made about eight years ago.
I have yet to see a set of these al jesse panniers in the flesh.
I had never heard of al jesse eight years ago.
The design for the lids on my panniers came frome a funnel I designed about ten years ago, for refueling cosworth sierra's that wern't allowed pressurised refuelling systems in the pits, all I done to make a lid, was extend the length of the funnel, and not put a hole in it.
The shape for the main box, is also motor sport related. The bag tanks on rally cars have to be shrouded in aluminiun, to hold them in place. The covers on some cars had removable lids, Hey presto, there's your box, with my hand made hinges.
I have copied nothing, and based my design on proven motorsport engineering, which the UK lead the world, (look inside F1 is you need any proof, Most cars are UK built)
As I have said many times before,I AM NOT A BUSINESS,all I'm doing is trying to help people out by using my skills, to make things they can't, the same way people help me out with stupid computers.
I never intended to sell any panniers, they just appeared on the web site one day, and members took it from there.
If anyone thinks I'm making a killing, making panniers for £450 a time, they must have fallen out of the stupid tree, and banged their head on every branch on the way down. I will be out of pocket on this one, big time.
If someone likes something I make, I quite often make them something for nothing (ask Squidbrain, I GAVE him a light bar last night, the same as I made for myself, and he liked the look of. If you wanted to buy one off me, let's start talking close to £200, he didn't know he was going to get it, and I never took a penny for it, despite being offered. And there are lots more people like him about, I just don't go around banging a drum about it.
Have a nice day, and if anyone in the world has a problem with me knocking out panniers for a few mates, they really should seek some help and get something to really worry about, like bombing Iraq for starters?

Vern
....beautifully said M8 :)
Are you going to be at the hog roast ? I'd like to see your craftsmanship first hand. I have never been a great fan of ally panniers but yours are a bit special. The idea of have them adonized is interesting too. I hope I can have a talk with you over a couple of beers in July.
Cheers
Gecko.
