Bespoke made for one of the lads....................

(and no, the tie wraps are not part of the finished article!)

I think he wants it for `boarding`..............

I reckon there's a market among Brick owners for radiator guards.

1) To replace the mesh that rusts in the various OE radiator surrounds & belly-pans

2) There's a growing number of old K-Series being stripped of their fairings and that leaves the radiator core unprotected. If it was able to enclose the radiator sides and top, better still as it's an area that often lets down some otherwise nice "naked" of "cafe" K's.

Oh, I see. I`d need a donor `old K` to design and make one................

The problem is that for the various OE radiator cover replacement mesh grilles, they're all different. The upside is that they're simple, usually nothing more than a flat mesh through which the screws holding it place, pass.

The radiators are all very similar. The one thing they have in common is captive threads in both sides for the different OE covers so fixing to the rad is easy.

This is my bodged solution. Ideally I'd have like to have found a way to make a cover that went around the sides and top using the highlighted mounting points (and one on the other side that's not in view):

If I find a cheap radiator, I'll send it to you if you want.

As I say, there's a gap in the market for something to tidy-up the bare radiator. I know that many in the US and Australia are looking for solution as well as here.

oh wow

oh wow yes I see what you mean now.

thank you - if you can send me one I would be very thankful and I will reimburse you for any of your costs :thumb2

Thank you.

I thought this was an impressive effort, seen at this years TT

I like that!
Out of curiosity, how much does it weigh and what would you charge for one to fit an R1150GS?

Mick.

livin' the dream

Pal I have no idea - done for beer money and with that said the fella still had to weld some k series locating lugs on it (which I could do but he's better at tig welding then me)

I have received an offer of a radiator on loan.

PM me with where to send it and I'll get it sorted. Perhaps we can then discuss the details?

Mark did this ever go any further? I am after a radiator cover for a K75RT rad which is the same as the one fitted to a K100.

Thanks

Nigel

It's simple enough to make one with some fireguard mesh from B&Q :beerjug:
