Would a 1250 replace 850GS + RNine T?

Hi
I have an 850GS which is a great bike, fits me well, great spec. I also have a RNine T Scrambler as I love that boxer engine and the look of the bike. I don’t tour far, do day trips and around the city.
I could do with just having one bike. So if I like the comfort and feel of the 850GS but love a boxer engine, would a 1200/1250GS tick a lot of boxes? And if so, what version?

What views?

I had a 650 Sertao and a GS1200 and and thought I could get rid of the two for something in the middle ground. So I sold them both and got an 800GSA. Big mistake, I missed the power of the 1200 especially two up plus the level of comfort it provided. The 800 was traded back for a 1200 within a few weeks but I never missed the 650. In short a 1200 / 1250 is all the bike you need if that’s what you’re in the market for. As for which one it depends on your budget really 🤷‍♂️

Thanks, say budget of £10-11k

Knowing Edinburgh & what riding you have relatively quick access to, I'd say the 1250 GS would be the perfect bike assuming you are Ok with it's size/height.

From experience I'd be sure to have everything apart from the alarm and immobiliser, so TE spec' with an Akrapovic & BMW top box/luggage to suit your needs.

I should add that I ride Scotland quite regularly and now have the 1250 GSA for the extra range and weather protection, but if I didn't have to get to the good bits starting from Cambridgeshire I'd not bother with the GSA and opt for the slightly more nimble GS..

10-11k should get a lovely 1250. I'd say yes, it will be the best of the 850/R9T if you just want the one bike.

Another essential is of course gold spoked wheels!
