And this is a picture of my GSXR with it mounted via some Ram Stuff to the Upper fairing stay.
I was originally going to buy anothr garmin lead then it occured to me that if I lopped off the lead as it goes through the dash on the gs I could put a waterproof connector (male and female) on the ends. Then run a power lead from the GSXR battery to an Identical connector.....as on the gs. Two sound and power leads for the price of one!!. Is this feasable and if so is there any particular brand of waterproof connector that you would recommend? If this is succesful I may consider making up another mount to the MZ doubling its value in an instant!!
Sounds like a good idea on the lead zokkers.......It's what I'm going to do with my BWM heated 'nodad' when I get the time.
I'm going to try a standard DIN plug and socket....not waterproof specifically but should do the job I reckon......available anywhere but they're 50p each from MAPLINS
Autocom make waterp[roof versions I believe, or some sort of rubber cover thingy...not entirely sure of the details though.
The 2610 on the gs does not shake too much at all. Its mounted on a very short Ram arm angled back towards the dash (but not touching it) so that the ram arm has very little leverage to amplify any movement. Its just below line of site and is very easy to use in this position.
A DIN plug might be just the ticket as it would be mounted behind the fairing in both cases and wouldn't be in the direct blast of any rain.
