Probably old news for you.

I fitted a Givi Airflow windshield along with Wings from Cee baliey´s and tobinators.

Tested it tonight and, WOW what a fantastic ride , now I can ride in calm pocket of air at speed of 100km/hr with no buffeting or loud noise from the wind ( didn't test it higher ).

The GS is my 4th bike in the Adventure series , First was Honda Varadero , the buffeting from the standard windshield was terrible and totally ruined the ride, I did try 3 different shields and never a comfortable ride, sold it.

Then KTM 990 non S and S type. Same there terrible buffeting from the windshield , ended up cutting it down and had to live with the wind blast on my head.

Then finally the GS and now I have a bike I can ride and ENJOY for a long distances , after my prior experiences I thought it was not possible to have a comfortable ride on these machines , but it is.

Going for a long ride tomorrow ;-).

Just wanted to share.

Happy riding.

Now you've just got the uncomfortable seat to worry about :D

I fitted a screen extender and the only negative is that rain doesn't get blown off my visor, so I have to lift my head above the screen every now and then.

Windblast is not always a bad thing especially if it's boiling hot like we've had this summer,I rode 230 miles Thursday night was glad of a bit of air moving,oh don't start another seat debate lol

I use an Airflow without winglets or tobinators and really rate it. The design makes the screen more effective at higher speeds as well.

Yes did you mention a Uncomfortable SEAT

Just came home from a 200miles ride , yes the seat is the next thing to worry about

Ys I measured the fuel consumption on this ride and it was 4.7 L/100 or 50 MPG (us ). Seem to be a little better after I fitted the windshield , have measured it before during some 100miles tours and has been around 5 L/100 normally.

You must be near ready for the Honda GoldWing......:D

Its not the lack of car type comfort @Aage (or I am after) its not having a headache, blurred vision and dizziness caused by turbulence & buffeting. Bikes with no screen don't batter your head so why should something that (allegedly) cost £millions to develop be worse than using no screen at all?

Thankfully, the Givi AF-330 with Tobinators or the shorter Varios is just about as good as its likely to get.

I fitted a power bronze gel seat, brilliant only £250 the pair direct from power bronze. Lets you sit in the bike rather then on it.

I think I wont ever buy a Goldwing ;-). To heawy and I have already had a Honda VT100C. So NO GOLDWING for me. I love the bike as it is now, comfortable enough to really just enjoy riding it. The WindScreen was about the only thng I coulnt not live with in the long run, now its fixed and I´m very happy with the bike, I have actually nearly quit using my CAR LOL.

About the seat, I will probably buy a better seat sometimes in the future but I have found that if you just wear a nice Bicycle pants with some padding it makes all the difference.

Great bike.

I have quit with the car. Mrs BT has it most of the time and I'm happy for her.
But the car is handy when the FD needs rebuilding and the frame powder coating.

I got a used standard height Kahedo seat & haven't looked back. A few weeks ago I did Torbay to Heathrow and only stopped on the way because I needed a wee. I've also done 200 miles each way in one day with no rest stops. Try that with the Adv seat. Or the GS seat.

My longest day till now is about 250miles and YES my bum did hurt a little :-). I still have to try the bicycle pants on a long distance day. I´m thinking of taking one round trip around iceland to test it out ;-).
