As the BMW box marks so easily, I've been looking into full wraps, plastidip, and painting, but in the end went with vinyl wrap. Signature Custom Designs supply it in sheets, pre cut, so all you have to do is thoroughly clean the top box, wet the box and the vinyl, then lay it on, and squeegee the water out.

The whole job took under an hour, and I'm pleased with the results.:beerjug:

There's even some spare vinyl sheets, so I may have just enough to do the toolbox.:thumb

Nah, that won't happen. It's too much hassle, and I can't be arsed! I'll stick to Kreiga luggage on the XR.:thumb

I what made you choose the pre cut sheet? Was it so you could do it yourself? I'm curious as this is the first set of Alu luggage I've owned and after getting damp once they're covered in white spots of oxidisation.

There are companies that will do a full wrap, but looking at them up close they don't look great, so as this covers the main bits that get marked, this is the better option IMO.:thumb

Looks good my man, told ya it was easy.

I wouldn't want to try and cut my own sheets.

Nutty, Nutty, Nutty...one simply does not wrap a toolbox. A toolbox is for manly man-tools. Wrapping it is akin to tying a pink bow around it.

Now...I know BMW do an Offroad Course but do they do a masculinity course for the modern GS rider do you know? A 'BMW Man the Fuck up' course? Could be a gap in the market I feel. :augie :D

I'm wrapping the toolbox on the bike, not the one in the garage, you silly boy.:rob

Nutty, why don't you wrap the XR next ?

Like, the whole fucking thing which will...

a) stop passers-by from having to be confronted by the duck-arsed platypus and
b) prevent the paint from falling off for a few more weeks.

Hope that helps !
