Been Searching and I cannot find this,so maybe someone could help.

My system is a Windows Vista 64bit,and at some point when the computer was going through a stroppy stage I lost all the word processor programs on it......no problem at first at is was primarily a games machine.

Now I am doing a fair bit of writing,or trying to.Most of the return documents I am getting from companies in response to my CV's are in the DOC. form.....they come up in complete gibberish in WORDPAD/NOTEBOOK which appears to be the only writing software left on my computer.

Can anyone suggest a writing software hopefully for free from Cnet downloads for example that can enable me to see DOC.templates and such and actually send a letter back in the same format?

Nothing flashy....just being able to see the documents and write.

Thanks.

If you use google docs you can upload a word document and then edit it in a word like application in your browser. Sign up for a free google account. Your documents are stored online.

Alternatively download 'Open Office' which is an open source application suite giving most of the Office functionality.
