Wunderlich complaint forthcoming?

You've never had them then! I have them in my 5-Series BM and on a chilly morning they're the dog's danglies. Same as heated jackets on the bike, if you've not had one you don't appreciate how good they are.

Yep
I wouldn't have a car without heated seats

I drive approx 100,000kms a year...........ventilated seats are much more useful than heated seats, even in our climate.

My ventilated seats will be on most of the day whereas the heated seats normally when they're needed, will only be on for maximum 30 mins.

(I rarely use the massage function)

I've lost track of my point......

Over a £1k for a pair of seats???!!!!

What is wrong with some thermal base layers or a descent suit to start with?

I ride year round and apart from my hands getting cold, the rest of me is nice and toasty in my Rukka suit. No problems whatsoever.

If I was going to splash out that amount of dosh on a heated seat the Touratech seat looks much better designed. £600+. Na

Yup and a shit advert from MF - I'm guessing he didn't pay for them.

I can't see anyone buying them off the back of that fcuk up video - that switch ffs being loosely fixed to the frame.

WTF did he bother with the passenger seat at those prices he never takes a pillion

He has too much money or he got them for free

Very poor design for that money

I've never felt the need for heated seats on a bike or in a car. By the nature of the materials they are made of seats are quite insulating and in a fairly sheltered position, so don't drain the heat out of your nether regions, especially if you are dressed appropriately with two or three layers. If switched on well before you first sit on the bike, heated seats may provide the luxury of avoiding the initial shock of sitting on a cold seat, but I can't see that there is really any need for ongoing heating throughout a journey. In contrast your hands are on probably the most exposed part of the bike with no insulation from the heat draining metal bars other than a thin rubber grip, unless you have heated grips - so I regard them as essential.

You’d be surprised. If you’ve got any kind of back issue they are a godsend.

Same here. A heated steering wheel is another must have. ;):D

He could have got a pair of heated pants cheaper and they would heat the whole bottom of the torso not just the posterior. :D

Had a heated seat on my triumph, it was the only thing I couldn't get on the GS which is a bit of a disappointment as I did like it. I'm surprised its not an option on a bike used for adventure & touring. (think it is an option on other BMW models?)

TMF, should not be working on bikes, that was painful to watch, and yes, a very cheaply made kit. In my opinion he has compromised his bike by fitting it.

Bet he hasn’t told his insurance company he’s put £1100 of seats on the bike either

I once saw a stranger's bike by the side of the road which had an accessory on it that I didn't think was much use, but I was unable to express my disdain of the owner, mock his engineering skills or rant about the price he had or hadn't paid. Luckily, the Internet came along and fixed that! :D

You lot sound a right bunch of old jealous tossers.
:D

The guy has posted a video of fitting an after market part. Targeted at the vast majority of "Moderate Novice Tinkerer"

He exposed poor fittings and switches, which will help any potential buyer. :thumb2 Its not about his ability or skill level, Its about the part and the fitting of that part.

Tossers

If you post a public video on the internet, expect the public to comment on the internet 🤦*♂️

He also exposed his poor abilities and skill level. Which is helpful to show others how not to do it.

How about the part where he earths the heated seat by placing the ring terminal on top of a plastic bracket, then relies on just the threads of the bolt to make the circuit, whilst at the same time saying he has an A level in electronics.

Perhaps pay attention and not be so distracted waiting to be offended on behalf of others

Oh Lord.....
Get over yourself....
Im not offended. Often embarrassed and cringe at some of the drivel posted on here.
Load of grumpy old tossers. (Overweight old tossers)
Wasn't it a metal clip, initially under the clip onto the metal frame ? Perfectly fine it it wasn't for the blue plastic cover on the connector ?
