I've just joined the forum and have recently bought a 2014 RT. The last time I had a boxer engine was in the late 1990s and had the misfortune to drop that bike and scratch one of the heads. So I'm thinking of getting from Nippy Normans the Wunderlich head protectors for the RT - they look better than the BMW ones from the photos. Anyone bought these and if so would you recommend them?

I was thinking of getting a BMW top box but having seen the photo of the ebony RT with the Givi box, I might have just changed my mind.

Went for the BMW ones for mine.

is there much point ? the first thing to hit the ground will be the mirrors and panniers. would recommend the mud guard extender though

If you drop your RT or GS, the first thing to hit the ground is the cylinder head. I have recently very gently dropped a GS LC :blast and the only damage was a scratched cylinder head, so a head guard would have prevented this. And how much would a new cylinder head cost?

I had the BMW ones fitted in the end as part of its first service. They look very neat.

Thanks for comments
