Before I removed the Wunderlich bash guard from the HP2, I got my colouring pens out and put some ruff marks down with regards to engine sump position to the bash guard

With the bash plate and fixing plate removed I now had to make head and tails of the hieroglyphic markings
Remove the Wundelich sump fixing plate and put some accurate scribe marks to follow before I attacked with the grinder

If you look at the tail end you will see I have worked out my bends and angles to get the tail end of the plate up to the exhaust, as the shovel is not required now the Akrapovic exhaust is fitted and the Cat has gone.
The angles and measurements for the rear of the bash plate were found with this angle finder and a ruler

‘My Bash plate and Exhaust dimensions’ are approx 23° and 110mm from the bend point (just behind the rubber mounting point holes) to new rear flat point and future new rubber mounted fixing point, which in my view should have been on the stock bash plate sorry I mean shovel!! As we are all old duffers write it on the plate so you don’t loose the bit of paper with the dimensions on at a crucial point, yes the next stage is bending

AH the wings….. No chaps this is not a allways pant liner advert for hp2’s.
I’m going to invert the cut off wings back onto the bash plate. Extra trimming will need to fit them up under the exhaust headers. In my case twice, as I didn’t take enough meat of the bone the first time, still at least they are not too short!!!
