I’ve been thinking about cylinder head project for my 1250 RT, I’ve had a good few Gs’s and always fitted crash bars.
This is my first RT and I prefer the look of either these wunderlich head protectors or the Machine art ones, in my opinion the wunderlich ones look better and are a few quid more expensive.
Has anyone got any experience with the wunderlich extreme protectors?

I've got the MachineArt ones. If the Wunderlich version use the 3 tapped holes to mount them on be careful you don't cross thread the one underneath that's at an angle 😉

I looked at them for mine (had the MachineArt ones on my RS) but plumped for the Wunderlich engine bars instead. Easy to fit and better protection. At the time thought they were the best looking bars too. Very substantial but neat unobtrusive fit.

I’ve had wunderlich bars on my last 3 gs’s, and never dropped one of them so thought I’d give head protectors a go this time, probably just jinxed it now especially as this is my first RT and it’s substantially heavier than the gs, but not any more than the gsa I had for a week and a half !

I have a set of bmw ones taken off my rt £140 posted if you want to discuss

Given you can buy good condition used head covers for £75 off ebay I fitted the MachineArt 'plastic' ones on my RT on the grounds it'll help with a low speed drop but not much more. I figure if I go down at any decent speed damage to the cylinder head cover is going to be the least of my problems. Have you ever looked at the cost of replacement fairing panels, indicators or even just something simple like a new brake lever never mind the cost of new panniers? They ain't cheap even second hand.
