X-ADV took me by surprise

Could everyone please stop saying how good these are.

You’re costing me a fortune

Well **ck me it's in the garage.
Absolutely over the moon with this.
Couple of things I've learned as I took it from the dealer "blind" and had to get back home.
The side stand is hidden by the foot pegs, I've learned that the pegs flip up by your foot prior to getting to the stand. They stay up not sure if that's a thing - still gotta work out how to set it back down.
Seat is so comfortable as long as your in the right position and not nuts forward on the fillet flap.
I'm sure I'll discover more but no time today just a 30miler -

Yep the footrests are designed to stay up. You don’t use them all the time, (unless you want to) more used for when standing up, or a long journey where you want to move your feet around a bit for a change.
Looks like you’ve got the comfort seat too.

The pegs are quite clever I thought.
Seems I found out by accident when you lift the pegs up on the bike and push down with your foot on the sticky out bit (tech term ) they lock up just push down on the foot rest and heaho there back down.
Clever design I think but you knew that already.

Agreed Bob, it was refreshing in a way to not be bombarded with desperate sales patter, I think he knew he was dealing with a grown up who was pondering the next move and in no way desperate to do a deal come what may, for those reasons he will get my business if I make the decision to have a deal, and yes he has my contact information.
I tried an XAdv at ABR. Honda were so busy booking folk in and out no one even asked me anything. I didnt even show my licence or license code, just did the breathalyser 🤣🤣🤣

Well, you lot are going to burn me with pitchforks.

Just had an hour’s ride on one. I don’t get it.

I mean, nicely put together, great screen, good quality. But I hated the riding position, the DCT was putting me in gears I didn’t want, it was deeply uncomfortable, choppy ride, gutless.

Cue loads of folk telling me how wrong I am …. You guys go ahead and enjoy, it’s absolutely not for me.

I'm just reeling that you managed to get a Demo Ride on one

Say it ain’t so, Joe.

Now this looked very interesting. And cheaper than the X-Adv too.

No pitchforks from me. The riding position takes some getting used to, the rider pegs help. Does rock and roll when you come to a spirited stop.
But heaho each to the own. Better in sport mode or adjust the torque and gear change in one of your 2 personal rider modes. Of which I won't be dabbling in for a long whilst.
I didn't find it gutless to get to legal speeds but 70odd HP down on a GS that's what ya get.
It's kept me riding bikes so it fills my needs.
I'm yet to rack up ownership mileage that makes me qualified but that's my 2 pence worth.
At least you had a go 🥃

They’re strange old beasties that’s for sure. Generally I found the one I had to be fun, engaging and little things like the induction roar, put a smile on your face. I can totally see whey they fill a need for some folk, but as a practical all round proposition? For me, not a chance and in my list of bikes had, it will go under the description above, ‘fun’ - but not for me.

Spot on. I’d borrow one in a heartbeat for a blat around some little roads with a few mates. And give it back without a second thought.

The very best thing about it that surpasses almost every other bike I’ve ridden?

The screen is superb.
