Hi,

I've been trying to remove the front wheel on my XC and the axle nut/screw doesn't want to move. I've loosened the screws on the axle clamp on the LHS (and then RHS) and I'm using a 26mm socket but it won't move. Am I doing something wrong or is it just very tight from the factory? (It's the first time an attempt has been made to remove it).

Thanks in advance,

Ian.

It's 80Nm so you have to give it a bit of a push. Use a longer lever and make sure you are pushing the right way (:blast :D)

you dont want to loosen the pinch bolts until you've undone the axle bolts also probably the axle is turning so you may need to put a screw driver through the hole in the other end of the axle to stop the rotation

Thanks.

All it needed was a longer socket drive and a decent socket :thumb2

Lucky I've not had a front tyre puncture as there's no way I'd have undone the nut using my wrench.
