Hi,

I'm looking for a rear wheel for xchallenge,

Maybe somebody here has one for sale?

Thank's

Have anyone tried to fit wheels from other bike to xchallenge?

A very good question.....
I was only looking at the rear wheel on my XC yesterday, as i am keen to get rid of the cush-drive and use a solid sprocketcarrier/hub arrangement.
I'm going to start doing some measuring to see it a rear replacement kit can me made.
I seem to have it in my head that someone mentioned a few years back that they had used a wheel from a TT600R Belgarda in an XC, but I can't find the info again....? I wonder if Johnnyboxer can remember it?

Sounds great. I was looking for rear wheel for a long time as I'm trying to do some changes in my XMOTO - I want to put enduro wheels as I'm riding mostly in off road and later I'll change the suspension.
Do you have some ideas about suspention?
I have allready put front wheel from gs800 and I was wondering to do some machining with rear wheel to convert it to Xchallenge dimensions, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.
It is really hard to find rear wheel from xchallenge as new one is very expensive.

Timpo can you ask Johnyboxer about the TT600R rear wheel?

thank's

If I remember right the rear wheel from a xt600 (4pt model ) might work the measurement from disc to sprocket is 0.5- 1 mm different so with some shims and new wheel spacers the is a chance it might work. The TT 600 uses the same engine so I would guess would be similar using the same chain line. Just watch what year you get as the engine on the kickstart only models has a 10 mm narrower engine do to no starter gear inside. Xt has a Cush drive though

Kito, thank you for your replay.
And what about size of brake disc?
I'm wondering about distance from center of the wheel to brake disc and to sprocket. Do you know if it is the same?
Any other options with wheels?

What puts your off the cush drive timpo?

next week is looking a little slack for me, so if nothing else crops up i might give talon a call and see what sort of numbers they would need to sell to justify making a rear hub for the XC.

Can't see it being that difficult? just take an existing hub and adjust the spacings in the CAD program?

Hi sorry I no longer have the wheel to take some measurements from. Maybe if you put the measurements of your wheel here. overall distance outside to outside of wheel spacers ,distance between sprocket and disc and if off centre then if I come accross anything I can comper and let you know

I have some business for Talon, I want two wheels for my 990AdvR so I could add an XC wheel to the order.
I would be interested in a solid rear hub, as I have had issues with sprocket carrier bearings not lasting, cushdrive rubbers compounds aren't hard enough and mud/water ingress around the rubbers and eroding the hub away......
So, please keep me in the fold as definately interested.
I believe Posuu has some good contacts there already, having sorted wheels out for my XC when I fitted the 690 front end and had a full 690 Talon wheel for the front and 2.5" x 18" Excel built to my oem XC rear hub.

Hi
I made a drawing with some measurements:)

In my opinion the most important thing will be the distance from wheel center to brake disc(83mm-84mm) and sprocket (99mm-100 mm) also distance between sprocket and brake disc.

The spacers can be fitted so it is not so important.

So maybe somebody have an idea from which bike can I fit the wheel? Of course important thing is to have the same brake dics size - what do you guys think?

If the picture on imageshack in not clear please give me an e-mail address so I can send it.

Thanks

Progress with Talon

Spoke to the nice guys at talon engineering this afternoon.

They don't currently produce a rear hub for the XC, and to justify a production run would require an order of around 20 units.

However, they are also happy to see if one of their existing hubs can be made to fit, with the possibility of producing an adaptor kit for it.

I just need to find a day this week when i can get my rear wheel down to them :D

Just a thought, does anyone local to Winchester have a standard front wheel i could take as well? Mine got sold on when i changed the front end of the bike, and i thought it might be beneficial to those guys still using a standard front end of they could keep up with the bling factor?

Front wheel is easy to do. I had a ktm exc/sxs front wheel on my XC the is enough on the OE front disc to be drilled to fit the ktm hub then some new wheel spacers are made and the calliper spaced out by 5 mm if my memory is correct

Kito, Timpo,

I've made some mesurements, would you be able to check if xt600 ttr 600 rear wheels has nearly the same dimensions?

Thanks
