I dont have the gs long but the back tyre has been slowly loosing air so i took the wheel off and dipped it in a tank of water, found air leaking from a massive tyre plug, measures 97 mm.it's in almost 1 cm on a Metz tourance,I dont reckon this tyre is safe with a plug that size, what do yee reckon???

I would suggest taking it to a professional tyre fitter and asking them to repair it, they will tell you if it's safe to do so.

Yep,I kinda figured that out myself but as their all closed at the moment I was just asking if anyone else here had a plug this size fited in a tyre and if it was safe!

97mm or Nine POINT seven mm

BIG difference

9.7mm is probably about the norm i.e. just under a cm

if its 97mm thats nearly 4 inches Do Not Ride it! End of Story!

hope this works

Yep 9.7mm,its just under 1cm,is this ok,seems big to me?

A professional "vulcanised" patch has a central plug that's pulled through the hole. So a visible plug is not automatically unsafe. It's usually much bigger than the holes it's filling.
The tread area can be safely plugged. The shoulder can't.
Personally I would check it's holed through the tread and chuck some Puncturesafe in the tyre. My tyre fitter is happy with the stuff though he's not so keen on cheap brands.

nope

What you need is the web address of the picture (if you have uploaded it Maybe Google+ or Facebook or photobucket

so the web address will look like for example "www,photobucket,com/jdh1340pics/plug.jpg"

You then paste that into the Img tags and it should pop up in your post

Hope that helps ??

I've had five plugs in one hole.

And rode back from morocco through spain and france with two plugs in a large hole without any problems :D

Yeah the Stop N Go Tire plugger kit are about a cm in diameter

If you have a farmers supplier nearby they usually have stuff to go in trailer and quad tyres (NOTE remove valve before putting goo in!!!)
