Xmas Accommodation In Dublin

Hi folks,Can you help?
Just had an E-Mail from a couple of French GSers whoare planning a visit to Dublin 24-27 Dec.They,ed like information re where to stay.
As they probably wont be taking bikes,somewhere central ,withinwalking distance.?
Affordable hotel,B&B etc.All suggestions ,advice,would be appreciated.

Well where would you start ? We have thousands of empty hotel bedrooms left after our big bang. Google I suspect. Mespil hotel, D4hotels, too many to list. What budget are they on ? High or low ?

I'm planning on being there at he same time and will be staying at the Westin on Westmoreland Street.
Have stayed there a couple of times before and it's very convenient to walking to Temple Bar, shops on Grafton Street, etc. - all of the touristy type stuff.

Tell them to bear in mind that NOTHING is open and NOTHING happens on Christmas Day and usually very little public transport available as well.
