Just bought one of these PeeWee's for my 5 year old & am already encountering starting/running problems. It is a secondhand 8 year old motor but hasn't been mullahed as far as I can ascertain.

Does anyone have any experience of these and can advise fixing on these problems?

Cheers

Yeah, I had one for my kids many years ago, the main problem I found was that it was constantly flooding making it difficult to start. As a start make sure the choke is not left on or stuck. If it is ok check you have a good spark first, is the plug wet when you remove it ? Have you a flow of fuel from the tap, if ok then check the carb, the float or float valve can stick not shutting the fuel off and flooding it. Also check the main jet is clear and the needle height is set right. Also check the airfilter is clean and clear. If all of these are ok there is no reason for it not to run unless you have compression problems, but in my experience it was usually carb problems leading to flooding. They are great little bikes when running ok even with an adult on it it went well. Good luck with it.

If it`s been hammered by drunk dads at bar-b-q`s and people who think a small bike fill drag there 20 stone around I would investigate the sta\ate of the crankshaft seals and piston/bore/rings.

Quite easy to fix (if it`s a genuine Yamaha).
