Want to make my fog lights yellow to stand out a bit more in the traffic.
Use them for daylight running rather than fog situations.
Anybody know where I can get the yellow from?

I understand that it is illegal to paint the bulbs so am guessing you either buy yellow bulbs or paint the glass but help required.

Cheers

If you get the correct colour temp you can have yellow HIDs which is what I intend doing to my fogs once I get off my back side to sort it :mmmm

Re regs. I see cars driving around with yellow lights - not saying that it is legal but somebody must be doing the 'yellow' to convert them.

Don't want to go HID as don't want to fork out that kind of money.

PIAA Plasma ION Yellow.

Not cheap and usually mail order only.

I shouldn't worry about regs too much, it would take a pretty bored/miserable copper to pull you for the lights alone.

I used these bulbs as main & dipped some years back. Yup, they'll help you stand out, esp. when commuting in Winter but are no-where near as clear and bright as a stock white bulb for lighting up the road in unlit areas and don't last too long in comparison either.

For better effect, stick a headlight flasher unit on the fogs :-)

When I'm at the TT, a couple of my riding friends have UJM sportsbikes. One is a K3 GSXR1000 & the other is a CBR600 of some sort & you can imagine how difficult they are to spot in a crowd of similar bikes. However, they both have yellow lense covers from Pyramid Plastics so, when I look in my mirrors & see 30 sportsbikes, I can spot them both very easily. The advantage with these covers is that they are held on by H/D velcro & so are easily removed if a UK policeman decides to "have a word". Probably cheaper than HID, too.

Strangely, these same guys don't have any trouble spotting me in their mirrors... :eek
