And spot on and as usual you are blind to reality and to the rest of Tim's intelligent, thought provoking post

So if RUK wants to leave Europe should the French and everyone else get a vote ?

Judging by some posts on here you'd think Scotland would be unable to do anything when Independence comes, do you lot south of the border think Scotlands just going to stop working altogether ??
Thats exactly what some seem to think. They forget Scotland built half the civilized world. They see Scotland as a poor ignorant relative living off their hand-outs.
This thread has certainly shown some folk in their true colours.
My 'ignore' list is growing rapidly.

But please remember....not all people think this.
I know you don't really care what my (or anyone else's) view is on this matter....and why should you really? This is a personal decision that you have to make on what will be best for you.
I know you may disagree with me, but I feel that the North Sea oil is no more Scottish than the NHS is Welsh - These are resources that are part of the United Kingdom. Having said that, if Independence is voted for, then of course the oil would be in your territorial waters (etc etc) so would be a resource of Scotland. My point is not to say "it's not yours, it's mine"....but to say that I don't feel that it is a "You" and "Us" situation....I feel that we are all the same people (and given that that we are all under the foot of the same politicians!).
My aim is not to offend...so I hope I have not.

I was in Iceland a few months ago and I've been there many times and its a very independent country............ALL of my friends there think Scotland should have its own independence and can't see any downside at all.
So, I was taking some photos on my cycling trip around Iceland and a Chinese man offered to take a photo of me and my bike next to some massive waterfall and noticed the Scottish flag on my panniers so we immediately got talking about Scotland............I thought he was on holiday in Iceland aswell but he was part of a trade delegation and had been there for three years.
This guys English was better than my own and he was very well informed and said matter of fact.............After you have independence you will need to sign a trade agreement with China and your economy will grow faster than you ever imagined!
The future as in many parts of the world to a lesser or greater extent is probably Chinese!

It used to be, but that was before the Icelandic Krona collapsed. It's difficult when you have such a small currency and no central bank.Iceland is the most expensive travel destination in the whole world.
Apparently not, see this Daily Telegraph articleScottish members of the armed forces get a vote.
Yes, as defined in the Continental Shelf Act 1964 and the Continental Shelf (Jurisdiction) Order 1968. But just because Weasel Salmond wants, doesn't mean he gets. There's likely to be a lengthy discussion about just how much an independent Scotland would get, see the article in today's Scotsman, warning that the amount Scotland would get is less than many think, and it is “unlikely that Westminster will be flexible” in the negotiations.I think you will find that there is already an entity of 'Scottish Territorial Waters' which (apart from Labour's largely unanounced attempt to alter the border) is already defined.

It is inconceivable that Scotland as an independant country - would not own their own prescribed Territorial Waters.
Territorial waters and mineral resources cannot be viewed in the same manner as a service such as the NHS. The NHS is an asset which has been paid for by all 4 constituant countries within the present UK&NI
