It's funny but as I was coming home yesterday, I was thinking there is something in the air tonight. Lots of people out with YES & NO placards on the high street and on the A9. I've never seen such passion in the political scene like this before. I've been in Scotland for over 10 years now, and really wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Whatever the outcome, Salmond has won the day, and shown those monkeys from Westminster what a bunch of shysters they really are.

I should bloody well hope there's something in the air this is an important decision by a few that will affect many, let's hope it's based on sound thinking unfortunately your 2nd paragraph suggests otherwise...

You want to break the union of 60million people and you bring it down to the result being having a dig at Westminster a place that is constantly changing with good and bad people but they are people that someone in the union wanted

It was intresting hearing an undecided last night suggest why he might vote no after hearing diffrent arguments - his reason, there is to much hate behind the YES arguments

What I meant was Salmond has won even if a NO vote goes through as Westminster has 'promised' more powers to Scotland which is what he wanted to put on the ballot paper to start with, except cameron wouldn't have it expecting a landslide NO vote.

For all their differences I don't think Cameron, Clegg & Milliband are the sort of upstanding honest politicians that would go back on their promise no matter what the rest of their parties or electorate think.

There is no need to go back on any promises. They are offering the Scottish Parliament the chance to raise their own income tax and do what they want with the money. Having a socialist country next door with higher income tax is a godsend for the right wing parties. It saves them having to point to France as an example of what a tax and spend economy looks like.

Quite right! Speaking as an English reader I can confirm I have never felt tension or excitement. Most likely the stiff upper lip you see. We all have 'em down here you know.

It is obvious that most of the 'No' support have been quietly sitting at home.

Maybe they are feeling a little intimidated by the shouty nationalist types.
