I just fitted a dipping H4 kit to my 1100, it took under an hour, I have so far managed to mount the ballast onto a crashbar mounting bolt, it clears everything but looks a little untidy, a mate is making me an under beak mount for that, otherwise it was all straightforward, wow its bright, road test tonight.

Looking forward (:blast) to seeing where I'm going after dark. Especially on the older Norton. Although I upgraded the 6v dynamo to 12v for a better range of bulbs, you can't get a quart outta a pint pot, so it still only chucks out 60w, at high revs. So a 35w HID should be a vast improvement on that old bugger.

Mine are 35Watts too, still way brighter than the original, the beam shape looks good too, I just need to raise it a little then roadtest it, I would have tried last night but it was absolutely pouring down. The solenoid main beam/dip thing works with an audible click but looks really good so far.

Could someone give me the dimension of the dual HID H4 bulb from the flange (:o) to the back ( where the wires come out) of the "bulb". I have a bike with quite a shallow headlamp bucket that I may convert.

I've a few of them on their way from China, if no one does it before they get here I'll measure em.

That puts my previous bargain HID supplier to shame, plus they take paypal.

Right I'm putting an order in ...

Call the guy first though, on Skype, rather than just bid on his eBay auctions. I reckon that's why I got a good price. Chatted to him on the Skype :type thingy and asked a price for the job lot.
Also told him that I was gonna gie him a mention on the site here, so he might just do something if you mention it :nenau
Ya never know, worth a try.

will yours be the second dakar with 4 hid lights snoopy :D

Yup. If yours is #1, PM me with the location of your ballasts. I've got one in front of the battery, one to the left and I'm thinking the other two behind the headlight bulbs.

It's that or dual up some slim ballasts. :nenau

The one infront of the batt is the tt one, one to the left is the micky one, i've copied that setup on my bike, I played with all sorts of different setups for the other two and ended up putting the other two way out back under the seat, just in front of the latch mechanism. I had to get the ones with the separate ballast & Igniter and lengthened the leads between the two. (igniter's are up the front under the clock assembly. I knew i took a piccy, can't find it now tho. I'll snap one tomorrow. :D

this wee lot arrived today, not bad for 200 beer tokens eh?

Thought I'd have a go at fitting the GS lights first cause it seemed to be the easiest of the 4 bikes to be done although it alone has two bulbs. Couldn't believe how simple and quick it was. Took me about an hour.

1st, cut a hole here, it says in the instructions to cut a 22mm hole but I made it 28mm as the connectors wouldn't go through otherwise.

next pop the light bulb harness through and fit the grommet.

next push those two spade connectors into your headlamp socket

next remove the plastic protector from the bulb

next pop the bulb back in place in the rear of the headlamp housing and put the plastic cap back in place, then connect the three snap connectors from the bulb harness to the ballast harness

next find somewhere to tuck the ballasts. I put one here, either side. It's a temp bodge as I intend fabricating a Migsel type bracket for the spots, so they can go on there later.

then switch on and feel smug wi yerself. This photo seems kinda traditional wi these threads so here it is, both barrels

Tomorrow it's the 2 Nortons, gurlie's Guzzi, and the Tranny van
