Like the title of this thread....."Go on, you know you want one", I have to admit that I do want one.
I have a 08 R1200RT with 52000km. At this stage, I'm considering of changing it........simply because the mileage is getting on. Absolutely
love the bike and there's nothing else out there that tickles my fancy. Rode a new K1600 GTL (even though I know I can't afford one) and when
got back on my RT, was much happier on it.
My most recent thinking is to keep my RT and get an 1150GS. By doing that, I'd have best of both worlds in keeping mileage down on RT and having
use of a GS (and a lot of euro still in my pocket).
Is there anything in particular that I should watch out for? Any particular year better than others? Due to financial reasons, I'd probably go for an earlier one
but if there was any particular reason that I should go for a later one, I'd hold on a while and do so.
I've noticed mention of final drive problems.........is this something I should be worried about? I had an 1150RT and had no problems. Think I sold it with around 25000 miles so maybe it was a early for problems.
