You clearly dont understand them, and never installled or used them.

What a silly thing to say, just because someone has a different opinion to you. I choose not to use them on the bike as once a tyre is punctured I feel it's integrity is compromised and I'd rather not add any risk to my motorcycling. I've used them on cars in the past but not on anything that would be considered a serious performance car.

I can understand there use to limp home on a bike if you have absolutely no other option, but as a routine measure, when a replacement is available, its not something I'd do.

Well bikes been off the road waiting for a tyre , no one local can get a rear Anakee 3 in 170/60 size, Michelin UK have none in stock and no delivery date, Cambrian tyres and two other major suppliers have none so it now has a Trail Attack 2 fitted.
That was a right basket as bmw have changed the rim profile, it means that a standard motorcycle tyre changing machine cannot be used, it risks damaging the rim very badly. So it had to be changed by hand.
We looked at three different machines and the profile on the head on all of them was far too flat and would gouge the rim in two places.
As for the old tyre, the hole was right on the outer edge of possible repair with a mushroom if it had been a straight round hole, unfortunately the hole was an elongated oval approx 12 mm long. To ream it out round and use a larger plug the mushroom would be over the edge of the allowable repairable area.
