Yorkshire MAG events

I hate getting into all this, but for one time and I will not be debating this after this post.
The price of £35 is to encourage people to prebook at the £25, because last year with the rain being so bad the normal gate paying public did not turn up and the event needs these people to survive. Around 500 pre book ticket holders did not show and thats a shame, but how many did show because they had bought a ticket, who would not have showed had they not.
At £25 less £10 in vouchers for beer and products for MAG members, brings the biggest motorcycle only rally in Europe with 5 different venues of entertainment, 22 bands, 10 DJs, 120 tons of fire wood costing £25 a ton, the best ratio of toilet to customer of any other event in the UK, free daytime entertainment, free rodeo bull, climbing wall and dyno tester, all comes to a set up cost of over 200K in 07. 08 is going to be even more with the main stage and lighting set up, more day time entertainment all for the real cost of £15 if your a MAG member and thats the price of a small event with nothing like the things that we have at the Farmyard.
So if your not a MAG member where you can get £10, back at the Farmyard, £3 back at Into the Valley, £3 back at stormin, well discounted bike insurance and a host of other benefit's, then thats a bit silly init.
All profits from the event go to riders rights and not a club to fund or subsidise a coach to the NEC or to a Mr big who is in it for the money. Over 150 volunteers who all pay for a ticket work all hours for the profit to go to riders rights.
Board of this now and I have a hang over.
Any anti MAG folk or any one wishing to extract the urine please be aware I will not be entering to any further debate over this.

Flat twin,Apologies I meant no offence by my remarks. It would be true to say that if I had to choose just one rally a year it would be the Farmyard(or possibly the Dragon-a totally different event).I,like most punters, have no idea about the running costs of such an event.I am a MAG member but my pea sized brain had forgotten about the generous MAG discount vouchers. So yes,at £15 it is definately good value and I shall be there again this year,pre-booked of course.I am aware of the size of the donations to MAG funds and would prefer it to go there rather than anywhere else.
Regards Dave

No please, no offence taken and I do understand that to most folk events are like most things, if you are no involved with it why would you know the ins and outs of it.
The most relevant thing this year is the rising cost of fuel and all contractors want a contract fuel proviso which is to say they will do the job (say supply toilets) but they have a right to up the price if fuel goes up. although it crap you cant blame them can you.
so don't worry no offence taken and thank you for your continuing support.
have you entered our competition yet ?:clap

Cool, yes I have entered the competition. One more thing,is the cafe going to be there this year?It shows what an old fart I am becoming that I like to be able to have a proper sit down meal rather than dog burgers.:D

Yes its there
Plus some other 15 food traders but we are going to dso some Glastonbury style, green field food vendors who are just into giving you a food
experience so shop around, the cma or the mag tea tent are good for budget people.

Birds of Prey

I know its a long shot, but would any of you know of a bird of prey display that could be hired for the Farmyard? I think it would be a bit different and of interest for people to be able to watch on Saturday afternoon while chilling and having a beer.
If you do know of one can you send me the details please.
What do you think would it be something you would watch for free while walking round waiting for the night time festivity's to begin

I have to agree here, as someone who organizes a rally every year the cost are frighenting and you really need the money up front to finance the eveny, we are lucky in that we sold out of our tickets in less than 4 weeks, but we depend on that money to finance the up front costs.

I will argue with flat twin on the toilet point, I think you will find that we have a better bog to bum ratio than you ;-)

Bowser (Ogri MCC)

Talking poo

The farmyard has 9and a half thousand gallons of poo and wee to get rid of and 120 toilets 8 disabled 8 six berth urinals to last year 6.5 k customers admittedly down by 2k but a good bum to bog ratio.
the information did come from our toilet supplier, and as you know they do talk poo

Just got my tickets for 'Into the Valley'and 'Yorkshire Pud', going with Buckles and I think Laughing Gas and a fair few others.
Going to get Farmyard and Ganton tickets next month.
Think I will take my Norton to them rather than the G.S., I like the uncertainty of arrival, ( yep mines an 1150 so I normally get there on that one :augie ).
This years Yorks Pud site details came and it must be all of 2 miles from my house, so I may even go there on the BSA !!!!!!
Look forward to mtg up with you all
