You all told me.....

Being new to all of this, I guess frame size isn’t the sort of thing you can just guess at if you order from home. Taking into account current restrictions, how do you go about it?

Not sure about Cube but Canyon is direct to customer. Frame size is fairly basic measuring, i.e. if you are x height then x frame suits or if you're leg length is x then frame size suits.

Kep us posted on the use of please

Will do. I’ll be riding it home from the shop tomorrow, as it won’t fit in my wife’s Mini, so I made sure they’re charging it up ready.

Cabby has it nailed below:

Cabby and Nutty, thanks very much. I’ll wait for tonight’s liquid intake to wear off, avoid buyers remorse and take a clear view in the morning! Out of interest, can you actually buy a bike with pedals, or are they always an extra?

You'll love it.
This was just one my rides shortly after I got mine..... no 15mph restrictions here :)

Mine came with pedals.

OK, so stupid question, but isn't the whole point of cycling "getting some excercise"? And isn't the "going up hills under your own power" the most important part of it?

I haven't cycled in years, but I have done multiple 100 mile runs and cycled from London to Paris the hard way.

eBikes sure look cool though, but I can't help thinking they are missing the point....

Nice one Tim. :thumb

I’ve planned a route back from Farnham, taking in some tracks & quiet back roads, so will see how I get on.

That was my thoughts, but apparently you still get lots of exercise. We’ll see! :D

I had this cube model for a day on loan from my MTB dealer , I was thinking of buying one ,so when my Gravel bike was in for service they let me use it all day, I loved it and will at some time add it to my garage. I’m mainly a road cyclist, but use the gravel bike in the winter.
I’m torn between the Cube and a KTM e bike. The cube comes out better value for what I will be doing with it though.

Enjoy , and well done in admitting being wrong in buying a hybrid hard tail

I take it you are getting it from the UK Electric Bike Company then Rich ?

A friend of mine sold his wife's Cooper S Convertible and spunked the £10k he got for it on four e-bikes from them :blast

You’ve clearly never tried one then! You have to peddle still.

I’m waiting for the post saying he’s broken bones but is scared of catching something nasty if he goes to hospital.

Funny you should say that... Took a nasty fall a week ago and really fecked my shoulder, going to A&E was not an option. Now is not the time to get bust up.

I’ve since been able to get a video call with a consultant and today a trip is required to get an MRI, there’s not a chance of one of those locally, all the private hospitals as they should are looking after more life critical patients freeing up Covid space in the NHS.

Back to the bike - my carbon comp Levo although expensive has been a fantastic health investment (I fell off a different MTB)

You can crack along at a pace, still keep your heart rate up and go out when you’re not quite feeling up for it because you know it’s got get you home power - Amazing bits of kit.

Gearing is limited so if you want to go really fast you need to find a steep hill and stay of the brakes - 43.6 MPH my best so far down some field set aside :D
