You all told me.....

Will see how the combo feels tomorrow. I don’t find my bib any better than not wearing it at all tbh, so will see how the padded shorts fare. Returns are free, so it’ll be trial and error.

Just for reference, when I say bib shorts I mean, I wear them under my baggy shorts, I personally wouldn't wear just bib shorts when out on my mtb, that's for roadies, they're a strange bunch.

SDG Falcon saddle for me, it's been on my last 3 pushbikes (including a non-e bike). Endura undershorts, cant abide bibs. Then again, I have been mountain biking for many years, and riding enduro bikes, so my arse is like teak. :green gri

Having been riding in pukka cycling shorts for well over 30 years...I can't say I've noticed any difference between good shorts and the same make and model but with bibs attached. The actual short is identical, the arse pad is identical...

I think the OP's derrière is more like Dairylea than Teak! :rob:D

....just realised I've entered into a debate on the state of Nutty's arse. Shoot me now :blast:D

May be you're a skinny tosser but for me when wearing padded shorts as opposed to bib shorts I always felt like they were trying to cut me in half when digging in to my stomach where bibs you don't have that, essentially that is the only difference between them.

Next up, for your continued attention....

“I need to change the pedals as these are” blah blah blah......:-)

Here you go

They are utterly brilliant* .
Cabby will be along to say they are the worst pedals he’s ever used :-0

Great price too,and they’re black and look trick so totally narcissary !!

*never heard of them

Yeah, that’s what I do. I just wear normal baggy shorts on the bike, can’t be bothered with special mtb shorts. So something underneath with a suitable pad is all I need.

Get a bigger size then!

I use clipless spd's ;) although when I do go lecky can see me going flats and as nutty has already done, superstar stuff offer the best bang for buck in that department.

Superstar nano-x :thumb good choice, my pedal of choice, they’re not cheap but they sure are loverly - and best pedal I’ve tried for flats.

This thread is danger of emulating the Watercooled section... all opinions and no action :D

Let’s talk rides - This is Aspley Woods c20 miles from me, it reminded me that your mind and go for it spirt age maybe not have caught up with your physical age. 61 in my case!

It’s a relatively short loop but it single track all the way so, good fun until you start timing your self and seeing what max speed you can - Strava Wounds :D

Agreed. They’re not too expensive compared to others. I’ll stick a picture up later, it’ll wind Arsey up. :beerjug: :D

We need to see bones hanging out, and teeth on the floor! :D

If I had CD drive I could post the MRI of my current displaced left lateral clavicle fracture.

It was a new field edge trail I’d found, no legal right of way but a few dog walkers and the dry weather had made it a nice trail to join two sections of woods. You get to down hill section that has a sweeping left that then swoops down into a right dropping to the lower level of the next field.

I was beginning to get it nailed on the Levo with its 29in 2.6 tyres. Fast into the left then as you come out a quick a flick to the right.

Trouble is this time I was on the single speed 26in/1.8 tyres and wanting to maintain my speed because no battery power makes you do that :D

Didn’t get much further than tipping it into the left handed before the laws of physics and grip kicked in!

You snooze you lose!

Oh and it’s “too” :green gri
Just getting in there before some other tosser does. :thumb2

You should know better at your age! :D

I hope you’re ok though?
